I know that we PC players has lot of other reasons besides bad endings, game streamlining, auto dialogue, bad side quests, alwful jornal and so on to do not like ME so much.
Dragon Age is kinda obvious. Not only all the recycling and etc, bu we lost the tactical camera =/

But do you think these 2 Bioware franchises deserves to be in this list? I think that, for now, they do.

Just pointing out here, for balance, that despite what the title says, Mass Effect isn't in the top five for diminishing returns.

It was in the top five most votes - just - but those votes were balanced out with far too many "getting better" to even hit the top ten worst.

Sorry. Just a brief interlude for a bit of maths. Continue spinning.

The Elder Scrolls getting better? That article lost ALL credibility right there already, the only improvements that The Elder Scrolls had over the years was in the graphics quality. The rest of the series however, just became more and more shallow with every release. Skyrim can't compete with Daggerfall in any way except for the graphics. All the other components that make a game are more bland, mainstream and simplistic in Skyrim than they were in Daggerfall. TES had soo much potential, and it's all wasted on some pretty pictures.. A real shame.

But anyone claiming TES got better over time clearly didn't play Daggerfall.

No offense to the people that like those sort of games, but I cannot stand TES and Fallout for some reason. Maybe it's the lack of cutscenes that makes me hate them. Oh, and the fact that talking to people in Skyrim was a chore (I rented the game to see what all the fuss was about). I just couldn't stand the NPC character's voices.

Read again, ME is in the Top 5 (it's the number 5) of most voted for getting worse AND most voted in general.

I never much cared for the Bethesda approach to RPG's, so I was always firmly in the Bioware camp.

Now I am in no camp. Well, the Eidos camp if they keep making good Deus Ex games. The Vigil camp if Darksiders II is any good (it will be). But that's not the same as a true and proper RPG.

I couldn't stand the characters... Well, until the Dawnstar DLC, but should we really have to wait 7 months before finally recieving a character with any depth?

I wonder how much of the ME3 votes were soley because of the ending ordeal? If that was the only factor is some voters' choices, I can't take those votes seriously.

Also, I think it's a little strange that TF2 was on that list. Can the TF games be considered a continuing franchises without any new games over 5 years?

Its a fan based poll, so it really has no value in the end other than to check the barometer of what fans think at the moment.

Most of it is true,(although Elder Scrolls and TF 2 as being improved I scratch my head at, since one is a continual re-release of new weapons and ideas so it shouldn't count technically, and the other is just pure hype) and the getting worse top 5 I am not surprised about considering the current climate on PC gaming.

But it really doesn't mean anything except measuring the fans current opinions as of August 2nd 2012. Next year the list may change, hell next month the list may change. It is one of those things that is intangible.

Seems about right to me. Not sure that Total War is getting better though, Shogun 2 was pretty good, but Rome and Medieval II were brilliant.

It got the least votes for getting better. Shogun 2 was actually a breath of fresh air after Empire and Napolean, not bad games, but not WOW either.

With the annoncement of Rome 2...yeahhh

True, I'm really looking forward to that game.

That poll doesn't mean much of anything. Of course, when you're on top it's easier for you to "get worse". Likewise, if you're a mediocre franchise, its easier to "get better". I'll take ME3 over any of the franchises on your "getting better" list.
