basically, you've crashed the game. When there are no properties in the game engine to work with, the system has to look for something to paint on the screen. I think the floater was traynor, who couldn't be rendered cause the game was confused/overloaded with the data search.
I've had this happen with older video games I've tried to play on a newer computer with a hot dog video card. They can be really weird if they play at all.
It is true. I am sure he knows it's a glitch. I have played on the PS3 and it sometimes has real memory issues with ME3. If I've played MP and then go on to play SP. I was starting a mission - I think it was getting to where Jacob was or the one where you fight the reaper, but not certain. Taking a shuttle down and none of the landscape and buildings were rendered. Little pieces of detail, like satellite dish part were floating too.
I have seen one video where someone is I think talking to someone who isn't there. And, in another of my experiences on the night before Cronos, I played the romance with Liara scene and everything was so slow. When they kissed it was like their lips were slowly flopping all over the place and they weren't kissing each other, but were kissing the air. It was really funny looking.
I've had it happen in ME2 if I try to jump ahead in dialogue and it's like the game doesn't catch up so someone's talking and isn't even in the scene.
