Up in case Bioware still checks these forums.

I'm starting to wonder about that, honestly. They haven't said anything about the missing Earth DLC weapon mods since they posted that sticky, and haven't even adressed this gear droprate issue.

Please don't turn this isn't some anti nerf thread. Go elsewhere for that. This thread is for the obviously broken drop probabilities for certain gear.

Also, a Chuck E. Cheese employee would never come by and cut an arm off of your stuffed bear after you paid for it with tickets.  But Bioware sees no problem with nerfing ultra rares that most of the player base hasn't even unlocked yet.

Ha! I hadn't even thought of that. Epic legend kid manages to get enough tickets to get the cheap boombox; a week later a Chuck E. Cheese employee sneaks in his house and breaks the volume knob off.

It's like EA has found that the internet makes a whole new level of carny-game BS possible. All they need is enough suckers (mostly kids) to fall for it.

I messaged Brenon Holmes and he said he'll forward this to the people in charge of this.

I just got off the phone with Bioware. While they are aware of this issue, they are too busy creating Victory Packs for next weekend's operation to address right now. They did tell me however that all Victory Packs from next weekend's operation are guaranteed to give us only what we all really want: Level IV consumables!

This reads very much like trolling. Unfortunately, it is probably true, considering everything.

Not trolling, kinda funny actually. The idea of BioWare employees toiling over Victory packs like Santa's elves is amusing, given how bad they are.

Over twenty veteran packs so far today and not a single piece of gear or a weapon mod (have maxed out uncommon characters). Have managed to get one power reset card out of it.

Also has anyone had any problems finishing off the common starting characters, have received many repeats of characters that I have already maxed out but not the last female human adept or sentinel.

I guarantee the victory packs with have lvl 4 consumables. That's all I get anymore, I keep wondering why I even waste my credits for crap PSP. Last pack I bought had nothing but consumables in it. 99,000 credits for junk, way to go Bioware, great job.

I hope during the down time that they are fixing the store so we don't get lv 4 consumables as often.

Getting gear has been horrible. I have been getting two UR a night. This needs to be fix.

I played through the so-called downtime last night. Much like the so-called "Uncommon" and "Rare" Earth DLC gears, it didn't exist for me. Wasn't disconnected, played around ten matches during that time frame.

I'm going off on a tangent here, but last night I played through the downtime and I experienced only one disconnect, but then I was able to reconnect right away at the title screen.

I still have one more rare gear to unlock and nine others to finish leveling.

I have over 8 million credits saved up now, but I only play an hour or two a day now. Bioware's neglect to respond to this issue has been hugely disappointing.

I seem to spend more time on the forum, hoping that they've responded than I do playing.

Meanwhile, Bioware continues nerfing good weapons -- alienating the only fans of multiplayer left to play with.

It feels like they put multiplayer only on as an after thought and are doing their best to get rid of players.

"They were just supposed to go on multiplayer long enough to get the achievement! What can we do to get them to stop playing?"

I've stopped caring, it's obvious Bioware has too. Every week we see more and more weapon and talent nerfs, but no bug fixes. I think they're trying to drive us away. They're nerfing the Piranha, which was fine IMO. They haven't even tried to comment on the state of the broken store, yet they're all over nerfing stuff. I've almost lost all faith in Bioware. Soon I won't be playing ME3 anymore, the game isn't worth the frustation of playing for credits to unlock consumables.

It did take me a long time to max out the Male Human Engineer.  Well after I had maxed out all the other common characters.

What I really find frustrating is...

... when I open any pack and get an UR, then realize that it's useless because it's just a horrible weapon.
Gears on the other hand are just like URs, very rarely you see one. But you actually are happy about it because it at least gives you a bonus.

Short: What I want to say... make gear more common, buff URs and leave their drop rate alone - 10% per PSP is frustrating, but that's fine - they are ultra rare.

Long: Even as a casual gamer, I wouldn't mind the ones like freemyheart, who spend a lot of time on this game, to have weapons that are really superior, especially on X.
They should be defined through those weapons and not through the partially very stupid Earth DLC Gear, that gives passive boni.
It's a cooperative game, so being jelly about others gear is less an issue than elsewhere. URs shouldn't be so horrible at low levels, they should be equal to gold gear at around II-IV. And beyond that get quite a chunk better. That would give those, who play a lot (unlike me - see the Manifest) at least some reward and I would be happy to see someone like that on my team - killing stuff visibly easier than the rest.

Making DLC Gear drop this bad does the same thing. Just it wouldn't be as rewarding as actual useful UR weapons - it wouldn't feel as rewarding as actual useful URs and it's just frustrating seeing the gear labelled uncommon or rare when actually being less common then ultra rare weapons.

P.S.: I won't go in-depth with the UR thing, since it's not the topic, I will look for a topic or create one to adress the issue. My first language isn't english so excuse my grammar and spelling.

Just spent 8,500,000 million credits.

That's roughly 36,000,000 since July 17. 37,000,000 if you factor in the Veteran Packs I've been buying between matches to max (255) out medigels/cobra missiles.

Before I spent the 8,500,000 I still needed THIRTY-ONE of the Earth DLC gear drops.

One would think that if you spend 36,000,000 credits, you would have all 55 of the so-called "Uncommon" and "Rare" Earth DLC Gear drops, right? Especially since there were 69 rare Earth DLC non-gear drops. And essentially two UR weapons. 89 for 89 maxed out in the 28,000,000 credits spent before today's spending spree. And yeah, I have all of my UR weapons maxed, *rarely* use level IV consumables (much less the other worthless weapon/ammo/armor consumables).

My spending technique today was Vet, SP, PSP, VET, SP, PSP, etc. Not once did I receive an "Uncommon" or "Rare" gear in a Veteran Pack, even though I still needed TEN of the so-called "Uncommon" Earth DLC gears.

Pre-spending spree today: Here's what I had in the Earth DLC so-called "Uncommon" and "Rare" Gears after spending 28,000,000 credits since July 17:

So-called "Uncommon" Earth DLC Gears:
Thermal Clip Storage (2/5)
Adaptive War Amp (0/5)
Engineering Kit (3/5)
Densified Ammo (5/5)

So-called "Rare" Earth DLC Gears:
Combatives Upgrade (0/5)
Martial Biotic Amp (4/5)
Juggernaut Shield (4/5)
Shock Trooper Upgrade (1/5)
Guerrilla Upgrade (1/5)
Omni-Capacitors (2/5)
Barrage Upgrade (3/5)

Again, even though I had spent 28,000,000 credits before today's spending spree, I had yet to even unlock two of the Gears at all -- even though I had maxed the "Ultra-Rare" Typhoon & Particle Rifle. A joke, right? Did Bioware respond to this now 13-page thread even though there is clearly something wrong? No.

After today's shopping spree, here's what I still need -- after spending 36,000,000 credits since July 17:
So-called "Uncommon" Earth DLC Gears:
Thermal Clip Storage (5/5)
Adaptive War Amp (5/5)
Engineering Kit (5/5)
Densified Ammo (5/5)

A bargain, right? I only needed 36,000,000 credits to max out the so-called "Uncommon" Earth DLC Gears!!!

So-called "Rare" Earth DLC Gears:
Combatives Upgrade (2/5)
Martial Biotic Amp (5/5)
Juggernaut Shield (4/5)
Shock Trooper Upgrade (4/5)
Guerrilla Upgrade (2/5)
Omni-Capacitors (4/5)
Barrage Upgrade (5/5)

No, you aren't misreading things. After spending 8,500,000 credits today, I received a total of ELEVEN so-called "Rare" Earth DLC gears. I still need NINE to max out so-called "Rare" Earth DLC Gears.

So maybe, after I save up another -- what -- 7,000,000 credits, I can hope to get the last nine? Woo hoo! 45,000,000 credits to have the Earth DLC Gears!!! What a bargain!!!

And yet, Bioware won't respond -- and there are people that still don't believe there's a problem when it comes to the drop rate/misclassification of so-called "Uncommon" and "Earth" DLC Gears.

Comedy.
