They really should stick with the free DLCs after the ending fiasco.

I think they put it the free Multiplayer DLCs to butter us up. Had those DLCs never happened, then this would most likely have been free. Either way, I'll still get it and the Firefight Weapons Pack just to make my Insanity run a bit easier even though I heard it was already ridiculously easy.

No.

Free MP DLC s how they make their money in MP.

What? What do you mean that's how they make their money if it was free?

The MP being free is normally sustained by the Micro Transactions from those who choose to spend MSP or whatever the PC/Sony equivalent is on Equipment packs. Same deal with EA's Fifa Ultimate Team is a micro transaction business model

Oh wow. I've only done it a couple of times when I just have a minor amount of MSP. Are people really that impatient? I kind of like having to play to get what I want. Not just buy it.

Because its not fair we pay what we alredy have, and if i remember when the second dlc for the multiplayer was release there is a way to get the MP weapons in SP using a save editor, but a few days later bioware change it so we cant use this weapons in the campaign. So for the firefighter pack you`re actually paying a dollar for each of the new guns.

And you can bet in the future there will be a N7 Pack Weapons for 5 dollars or any price they want to charge.

For the Raider and Argus you're really paying for the actual Leviathan mission(s), not for the weapons, they're extra and the Indra is the only weapon in the Firefight pack that you can obtain legitimately and it's very cheap anyway, so no, you're not really paying for weapons you already have.

We (BW) drop in for you this new content pack. Say, 4 characters, 6 guns (2 ultra rare)

This is free.

Now, even if you're an avid player you could grind for a good while to try to get access to some of this stuff. For instance, I've been playing for 2.5 months and I got my Saber I only last week.

If you're a casual player and want it...or an avid player and are frustrated at not getting it, you might pay $2.99 to the RNG gods to *try* to get the things you want.

If even only a small percentage of players do that???

Profit.

Alright I see what you mean now.

Sounds good Chris. Can't want to try out the new DLC when it's released.

So it seem that the EC of ME3 wasn't a huge 1.9gb... it was about 1gb due to some leviathan DLC content included in the EC.

Kind of false advertising.... but I am interested in the Leviathan DLC, ( or should I say I'm interested in learning more about the reapers origins ) .

I thought it did. Wasn't that the reason it was discovered in the Extended Cut files?

From memory it (might?) add more conversation with the starbrat, I'm not paying 800 points for that.

Yeah, if that's the case, you're better off just Youtubeing it. Seeing how the EC was implemented into the ending, I can't imagine it would be too hard to make each new DLC have some kind of impact on the ending.

The problem with this DLC is (besides the whole "ME3 ending is terrible") that in ME2 you still had ME3 to look forward to. Each DLC in ME2 would have some kind of impact in ME3, here there is nothing to look forward to after the DLC because it's all over.

What Bioware needs to do for each SP DLC idea is to first think how it could have an impact on the ending.

Have you seen this?
Bioware Producer says "It wouldn't be a bad idea (to keep your ME3 saves)" said ME3's Associate Producer, Mike Gamble "Obviously I can't say anything, but it wouldn't be a bad idea..."

The only reason the Argus and Raider is even in that DLC is because some people already have them. It's really them just throwing 360 and PS3 players a bone since only PC players could get it (Raider) at the time. I don't know if they'd sell the N7 weapons or the Defender & Valkyrie. They never sold the Collector Amor & Rifle or the Terminus & Blackstorm in ME2.

Didn't people have to pay for the M-96 Mattock in ME2, but it's free in ME3? Same kind of thing.

The Leviathan DLC looks interesting so far, and anything that digs deeper into the reaper's origins or state of mind piques my interests. Especially if it has an impact that could change my opinions towards the game's ending choices, like the way the geth server provided insight into the geth as a people. I hope Harbinger will be in it too. I didn't get to see near enough of him after all his incessant dogging towards Shepard in ME2. I had been hoping for a face-to-face confrontation with him in ME3.

They also said Shepard's story is over. That means at best it would be like importing a DA:O save in DA2. Plus that was pre release hype. Their plans could've easily changed from the post release feedback.

EDIT: That could've easily be referencing ME3 DLC, not a ME4.

The truth is its *not* impossible that the save counts towards a continuation of sorts. Does anyone else find it interesting that the final save after the ending is called the *legenedary* save.  That makes me wonder what's the plan next.  Could it be something that doesn't include Shepard sure.  Equally what's to say it won't have something to do with Shep in the end?

Anything is possible.

It is nice to know that MP gets showered with free DLC while single player only got one. Oh well I guess. i am still gonna buy it.

MP and SP DLC are being worked on by different teams.
EC postponed SP DLC development.
SP DLC require more work with level design, writing and voice acting.
MP have unlocks and microtransactions, with SP DLC you can get all of it with one payment.

Firefight Weapons Pack

Players will soon be able to arm themselves with the Firefight Pack, a new Single Player Weapon Pack available for download August 7 for $2 or 160 MS points. The Firefight Pack will feature two powerful new weapons and five bonus weapons to use in the fight to Take Back Earth!

Already have the Indra (from Alienware code giveaway) and the Geth SMG (as well as all the other Resurgence weapons ;)), can we possibly replace those with the new N7 Typhoon and Piranha instead?

The problem is the EC killed a continuation by making the endings more different. Bioware would have to somehow retcon the endings to make one canon like Anderson or Udina. That would only incur more fan wrath.

Typhoon and Piranha would break singleplayer. Unless you want Bioware to "balance" singleplayer too...

Will be buying the Leviathan DLC. The 1st proper DLC! Yes!

Not foolish enough to buy digital weapons. I can beat the hardest difficulty setting with my current weapons, there is no need to buy more.

Nice that the Argus is being made available but when can us Aussies whom had bought the N7 Collector's Edition get the items that had been removed (ie. the Valkyrie and Heavy Armour)? I apologise if I sound ungrateful, but to be honest that's just not cricket.

I trust everyone has informed you that Dawnguard was released for the PC today numerous times already, but I just have to make sure.

Not necessarily.   There are many different ways to include Shep in a story without reconning anything. There are only, at Max, 5 different endings to write for.  Or they could go with indoctrination theory...

Many potentials.  Not one of them rereconning.:alien::alien:

The Locust was exclusive to Kasumi's loyalty mission and now it's part of the game in ME3.

The problem is that each ending makes the galaxy a different place. Each would have its own setting and problems. Without retconning, each ending would be its own game.

Yes and no.  It *can* be done without retconning anything.  It just requires a little creative thinking.

You could end up being 100% right, I'm not discounting that.  All I am saying is that arbitrarily saying something *cannot* happen isn't the most logical of responses.  Mainly because narratively, and with the different sve titles, it does lead to another sequel which will likely have Sheppard in it in some way.
