Leviathan

Today we are pleased to announce a new Story-Driven Single Player DLC for Mass effect 3 – Leviathan!

Something lurks in the dark corners of space, something powerful enough to kill a Reaper. Shepard must discover the most closely guarded secret in the galaxy before the Reapers silence it forever. Discover more about the origins of the Reapers as you race across the galaxy to find the Leviathan. Unravel the dark history of the Reaper Race before it is too late. Coming later this summer there is no war, only the harvest.

Catalyst 2.0???

Taking place during the events of Mass Effect 3, players will be thrust into the darkest corners of space where they will hunt a mysterious being rumored to be powerful enough to destroy a Reaper. As they race against time, they will begin to unravel the secret of the Leviathan. Explore uncharted systems and new areas on the Citadel, interact with brand new characters, unlock the AT-12 Raider shotgun and M-55 Argus Assault Rifle and discover more about the mysterious history of the Reapers. Available for PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 for $10 or 800 MS points..

I already have those weapons.

800pts seems too much for me, I think I'll pass. I'll wait for the omega dlc.

Firefight Weapons Pack

Players
will soon be able to arm themselves with the Firefight Pack, a new
Single Player Weapon Pack available for download August 7 for $2 or 160
MS points. The Firefight Pack will feature two powerful new weapons and
five bonus weapons to use in the fight to Take Back Earth!

The Firefight Pack includes the following weapons:

Indra Sniper Rifle: Fully automatic sniper rifle.
Krysae Sniper Rifle: Heavy turian sniper rifle with explosive rounds and an automatic scope for all-range fighting.
Reegar Carbine: Quarian electrical weapon that's best at close range.
Harrier Assault Rifle: Full-auto Cerberus rifle with low recoil and heat generation.
Geth SMG: Fully-automatic geth submachine gun. Its rate of fire increases when the trigger is held.

We already have those weapons in multiplayer why should we pay for use them in the single player?

Blood Pack Punisher SMG: Submachine gun with a secondary barrel that fires armor-piercing rounds.
Adas Anti-Synthetic Assault Rifle: Electrical weapon that's effective against shields and synthetic targets.

160pts for 2 new weapons? It seems too much.

Thanks for the dlcs but I think I'll wait to hear what people think after the release.

I'm just gonna add that this seems like a lot of content for $10. Yes, do wait and see. That's a smar tthing to do *I'm not doing it because I want more ME3 stuff ASAP*...but you're not gonna get a different price. $10 is their new standard for SP dlc. Unless you find Omega worth $10 as well.

I'm predicting that the "new areas on the Citadel" are basically one or two rooms Shepard is contacted and asked to meet someone or obtain data from within; one-timers like some of the other Citadel missions. It's not what we want, but it's more likely.

Still... you never know. It'd be nice to be wrong about that.

*snip pic*

I doubt people would attack a Reaper with spears so I'm guessing a husk from an earlier cycle. Weird thing is if you look close enough it looks like a long-legged Elcor standing on it's hind legs.

It does look like a giant Elcor...*speculations speculations* :innocent:

Why is MP DLC free but u have to pay for SP DLC? I sent to much already on this game to actually pay for SP DLC

MP dlc is paid through the micro transactions, and it has to be free otherwise it will split the mp playerbase.

there is no other way to pay for SP dlc other than to charge for the dlc itself

I hope that helps.

Not really. Most of those guns are given out for free through MP. The work has been done and paid for.

I can't belive people are acutally contemplating buying something thats being handed out for free elsewhere.

You realize at this point they are asking you to pay for the right to use them in SP even if you already have them in MP.

It's a cashgrab. Sure, it's in MP. Fine. But if you don't want to waste your money for the stupid weapons don't. If you think this is a horrible bussiness practice don't purchase those weapons.

It was the same with ME2 it's the same now.

Except it's not.

ME2 weapon packs were made and bought. They were paid off by one source.

This is different, they've already been made. They've already been paid for, by those silly enough to gamble, and are free otherwise for the rest of MP.

There is nothing to pay for when they bring them to SP. The hard work has already been done. You are essentially giving them money for the work of an underpayed intern.

Oh please stop the crying about costs. Don't buy it if you have a problem. For those of us that don't play MP and fully expected to pay for DLC, this announcement is Awesome!

Can this thread be a happy one for a change?

Yes if you pre-ordered. And didn't throw your receipt away like someone else in this thread posted earlier.

It was a promotional item, but I believe it was PC exclusive.

The M55 was a preorder bonus, and the Raider was an Origin-exclusive item.

I'm still waiting on confirmation that the whole squad is getting new content. Can you at least confirm that, Chris (I know I heard Steve in the trailer, but nobody else was talking)?

A fine point but with 3 drawbacks

1) 160 ms is not a huge dent in my wallet
2) because of the RNG system, It can take ages to get a certain gun even if free (I still dont have a harrier -_-), As far as I can tell, I can recieve the SP version as soon as I purchase it.
3) there are two new guns in the pack that aren't in MP

at least IMO

What I wanted to say is that for what I read I'm not interested in buying it, maybe when more info is revealed I'll reconsider to buy it.

There are a few things that they had to do for it, however.
Maybe they balanced the weapons out so they work for SP (Since MP's enemies are actually different in terms of balancing) and also there are two new weapons.
So for the price of $2 we get a SP variation of 5 Mp weapons and 2 never before seen ones.
If no balancing was done, then it's just $2 for 2 new weapons.
And to be honest? The ME2 weapon packs either came with 3 new weapons or 1 new weapon and a armor.

What does ME3 new weapon pack have? Two new weapons and 5 MP weapons. So sure, 1 less *new* weapon, but it's still the same.

Hopefully it will be more substantial than previous DLC, because if they're going to charge ten dollars for barely an hour's worth of content, I just wont bother.

^^^ THIS ^^^ is the million 2 dollar question !:wizard:

The original was awesome and would pay for it to blow everything up in SP, but the nerfed-to-oblivion weaker-than-shuriken POS that is the latest version of it is not worth the time to download even if it  was free!
