Maybe in the 8bit days. Nowadays games are more than just distractions, Hollywood celebs are actually doing VA for games, big shot writers are writing game narratives. Games are no longer escapism tools they are now very much a part of our entertainment society. They have stories and in many cases better ones than many movies out there. So excuse me if I expect more from my game library than mindless shooting.

You know, I'm not entirely sure we actually disagree, other than on what constitutes escapism/distractions etc. To me, any "part of of our entertainment society" should have as its first goal to entertain, and entertainment is just one form of distraction. I'm totally on board with you on a good story adding to that entertainment value. And this DLC seems to be adding more detail to that story to immerse yourself in. In my book, that's a good thing.

Well I'm glad, but it's all a matter of opinion. I have been put off by the ending and you haven't so I guess we'll just leave it at that. At this moment I just don't see myself taking the time to find out the backstory to the Reapers if in the end their main motive is "so you don't make synthetics that kill you". That's why I'm not buying the DLC but if someone is willing to I'm not here to coerce them into changing their mind. I'm merely stating my opinion on the subject here.

I promised that if Bioware fixed the ending enough that I would not have complained had it been in the game the whole time, that I would buy all their DLC. EC fixed Destroy, so I will buy every DLC.

No. Not worth it at all. I will, however, continue to play what I have, because I already bought it.

Maybe if there's a way to download it for free...well then now we're talking! No money on it, though.

Even when I played ME1 I never knew much about leviathan besides the small mention. Probably won't get that DLC. Probably..but then again I like to complete things whole. But.. it seems really hard for me to play through the ENTIRE game again just for one small DLC..a DLC I never knew much about before and probably doesn't do much for the game.

Omega, sure. I'd buy that.

Why is everyone hating on this DLC so much? It's what people have been asking for instead of multiplayer DLC, and now that they have announced it you all threaten to ignore it? Make up your damn minds!

People were asking for removal of the crazy holographic Artificial Idiot and for some ending which would make a f***ing sence, not ruining previous ME experience (you know, thrilling space-opera action-movie blockbuster about unity despite differences and overcoming impossible odds). Instead, EAware had "extended" existing pile of sh*t as an answer for those pleas (Yes, I know that most of the current BSN populace like or pretend to like the EC - I don't care, EC is not what we've asked for) adding an "You don't like our artistic integrity? F U! Rocks fall, everyone dies" option for lulz in a process. They don't deserve a benefit of doubt.

If you really feel that way, and so strongly at that, why are you still here? They clearly said that after the EC they won't touch the endings again, so why stay?

Fans need to buy MOAR DLC! So I can keep getting MP DLC for free...

I will.

Single player DLC is great and I will support it.

I like many, am still holding out for additional character content from the forgotten squad members of Mass Effect 2. Though that seems progressively unlikely considering that "Retake Omega" will probably come out after this, which will probably wrap up the 2012 single player DLC.

Oh well there's always next year.

No ME3 DLC for me. If they ever decide to fix the ending (not holding my breath), I'd consider it. Until then, not a chance.

No, free is free. Nobody in their right mind pays anything to unlock anything, or feels the need to farm.

But if you want to pay extra for me for the DLC, I'll let you know how you can buy me my copy of Leviathan. And I have some friends who would prefer people to pay for their game too. :D

Because if we don't stay here and continue to say our piece then nothing ever changes and Bioware continues to think they managed to put things right... which they have not.

And the initaly tired to mumbble someting about "artisict integrity" and "Its open to interpretation" when the first furball went up, only to have to partly eat it and throw EC at us to calm the fan base. I guess it partly worked, the unified "you ****ed up" outcry isn't unifed anymore.

Nope. But I'll be re-purchasing Koobismo's Starsignal track for $10 on the day the DLC releases. <3 Bioware knows how they can regain access to my wallet. Until and if...

I come here and episodically write something so that people like you would see a link in my signature, click it and understand that there's another - much better -  way to end the story of Shepard.

I'll watch it on YouTube™. If it's utterly fascinating I'll buy it, but I'll probably wait for the 'platinum' edition a year down the line with all DLC included for a reduced price.

Arrival ended up being a waste of money because nothing came of it. Overlord ended up being a waste of money because even if you let Gavin keep his brother, nothing comes of it. Zaeed and Kasumi were a waste of money, in ME3 they've got 5 minute Point A-B quests which just gives you about 10 EMS and a 10 second conversation on Earth.

I will never understand why you guys give all this attention to the end, to a point you forget completely the overall experience. I don't play DLCs or any other mission just to see how it will affect the exactly final moments of the trilogy, I play the DLC.. because of the DLC!! I loved Overlord, for example, because of Overlord. I like when we meet Overlord characters on ME3, but It's not what make the DLC worth (or unworthy), it's the experience itself. I like the mission, I like David's story, I like to fight that geths, I like to find out what his brother did to him, the whole thing. How could I call it a waste of money just because it didn't had a massive effect n ME3? It don't make any sense.

I will play it for the experience, for the DLC itself, even if it affect the end somehow (which would be good), or don't affect, I want to explore further the history of this mysterious Leviathan that I been hearing about since ME1. I want to join up with Aria (maybe as squadmate, who knows?) and retake Omega with her. I want this specific experiences. If it give something more to the overall story, good, if not, It's well worth sidemissions (thing that is seriously lacking on ME3).

About seeing on youtube, I can't even start to define how lame it is. It's not the same thing, it's far better to actually experience  it, in the way I want, with my Shepard, taking the squad I want (which normally bring new dialogues). There's no point seeing on youtube.

I'm normally way too careless with money and buy most DLC for games that I've enjoyed, but the thing is, paying for stuff means sending a message of approval. And under these circumstances, I really couldn't do that. So maybe I'll watch it on Youtube if I get curious. Maybe not even that.

Then I for one envy your ignorance, since the overall game in-comparison to the others is shockingly abysmal.
