If Liara's first words in ME1 were "I'm dying," I'd fully expect for her to die at some point during the trilogy. And I'd be totally cool with that.

And that is why I can't fathom why Thanemancers are complaining about Thane's death.

Probably because BioWare indicated there was hope that he could be saved. If you romance him, he even seems like he feels a greater motivation to live and fight his disease.

His death is also treated like it is less significant to a romanced Shepard than a random child whose shuttle she saw explode.

I do think Thancemancers have a legitimate gripe there, just not with the death itself.

Just write the DLC assuming X character is alive. There is no downside that can't be written out.

One of the Greatness of ME1 & ME2 (especially ME2) was the replay value.

Because of the strong-deep & rich Character Content, One playthrough wasn't enough.

Miranda & Garrus
Thane & Mordin
Kasumi & Mornith

& Insanity Playthrough (Vanguard): Grunt & The Human Krogan: Zaeed

ME3 replay value is a joke.

The DLC's can provide that back. If your a Thane fan: that doesn't mean Thane fans won't buy a DLC is focus on Krogans.

Miranda also shown herself of how she's grown, and can handle her own away from Cerberus even Kai Leng himself. I think many be happy if were to see these two in a DLC.

Also this. Just because somebody likes X character doesn't mean they only limit themselves to X character's DLC. There's no rule for mutual exclusivity.

A Cerberus DLC could work terrifically with both of them, especially both of them have all but forgotten about their past associations with Cerberus.

Well I think you are sort of the exception, Han. You don't seem the type that would give a **** if Liara had some lame death scene (Shepard had better things to do?), or if your relationship with her wasn't acknowleged in any way. 

It all depends on the character's death scene. I thought Thane's was extremely well done and not unexpected.
Likewise for Anderson. While I wasn't expecting Mordin's death, I also thought his scene was very well done. I wouldn't call any of those lame.

Thanes death gets boring fast. (auto)talk, (auto)talk, thane jumps in, kungfu with Kai Leng, gets slit, followed by another cutscene, before i finally can.... shoot things. NEW improved Role Playing Bioware style.

Mordins Death. Do i shoot him this time? DO I? MUST decide! Damnit! (Shoot or shoot not and change the curse of action for the rest of the game.) Role Playing classic bioware style.

The fight scene itself could probably have been better executed.

Shepard not firing isn't as big of a deal as some people make it out to be. That complaint is based on the fact that people have seen too many action movies. Thane and Kai Leng were engaged in close combat at the time, and Shepard trying to take that shot would ran a large risk of friendly fire. His target would be both moving and practically on top of a friendly.

The bigger issue is why Thane bothers to engage in hand to hand combat when he still possessed a perfectly good pistol.

That being said, it is a minor gripe. And the death scene at the hospital was perfect.

I agree completely regarding both Mordin and Anderson. And if they had given Shepard something to do while Thane fought Leng I wouldn't have had much of a problem with it. But even when caught up in the emotion of it during my first playthough my second thought was, "hey Shep a little busy are ya."

Watch the fight scene again. There is at least one occasion where Thane and Kai Leng are nowhere near each other and is at no danger of an accidental friendly hit. Never mind that Shepard has 2 other squadmates with him/her, allowing for multiple angles of fire (as well as available powers) and the opportunity to disorient Leng from focusing on any single person. Thane's manic charge at Kai Leng is only serving to make an already awful scene even worse.

The new liarathan dlc, where you and liara will explore the mysterious liara, who is said to be able to liara a liara. On your quest your meet up with archeologist liara, and than explore the unknown corners of liara as you search for liara on one of the many uncharted liara's in the liara.

Also garrus will now be played by liara.

Seen the trailer. Instead read the first 1,2 or 3 pages of this thread. And you'll find your answer there.

I didn´t know. I only knew that we are bigots and (according to another poster whose name i thnakfully don´t remember) are sadists who revel in the sight of people dying in car crashes..

I am a Thanemancer, running the biggest campaign against the death only outcome. However, I do understand there are many different view points but I am still pushing for an optional save for Thane, so everyone ends up happy. It took me months to finally figure out the best route to go.

So please forgive those whom seem highly passionate about the situation. There are some who feel that Liara has gotten enough attention for now and think that some other characters, like Thane, should be more involved in the game now. For the Thanemancers, we have been fighting for a better romance and a different outcome since the release of the game. Some are just very tired now. 

I'll wait for someone to reply to the Leader who's running the biggest Campaign.
