I have played the game and seen the difference between the date scene if you start the romance for the first time, there is no difference between them other than the kiss being shown in the latter. Liara never hits or flirts with Shepard during the scene you talk about, she calls Shepard a friend, nothing more.

So maybe you should simply start to pay more attention and watch what dialog you pick? So you don't wind up dating Liara instead of Ashley.

Don't get why it seems to be a difficulty for some people to pick the right dialogue to progress in the way they would like to...

In which case I should point out that is how all the romances work in ME3, Shepard can have had any other prior relationship and hook up with a new one with zero comments from the new one. Liara is not the only one who has this problem. Kaidan for example, flirted with my Shepard even though he had a thing going on with Liara, this case is actually worse since unlike Kaidan, Liara does not try to pursue anything with your Shepard, Shepard is the one who suggests it.

This thread is hilarious considering Thane had a 0% chance of appearing in this DLC regardless of Liara's status in it, and considering you aren't forced to take Liara. Both the script leaks and trailers indicate that you can bring any of the ME3 squadmates along. If you don't like Liara you've got six other options (if you downloaded Javik) to bring with you.

Other than people pointing out that you are overreacting since you can bring any squadmate in the DLC, there hasn't been anything of substance posted. The tears from the whiners have been mildly entertaining however. It almost makes me wish Liara was forced on the player, as the rage and wailing would be hilarious.

Lol, Even though I LOVE Liara, that would make multiple playthroughs kind of boring.  The whining would be hilarious though!

She's also kind of creepy in ME3, I made it clear I was breaking up with her for Miranda in 2 + LotSB and she's still ready to be romanced in 3. Not to mention her stalking you in your cabin, or how in the pre-ec endings no matter who you romanced you'd always get a Liara slide.

Did you know that before you touched down on the planet. No. Therefore, it makes sense from an in game point of view to take her.

It also made sense to bring her to Noveria when you fight Benezia in ME1, but the game doesn't force you to. Seriously, I found the forced companion crap in ME3 very tedious, not only for Liara. I like bringing multiple companions in other playthroughs to see what changes, this kills replayability.

Except there are trailers showing Shepard with two squadmates not named Liara and dialogue leaks for other squadmates.
