And, just to add, Liara wasn't a squadmate in ME2 because, early on, they had the concept of the Suicide Mission and they didn't want Liara to even have a chance of dying until ME3.
Edit: And I'm not hating on Liara. That moment just irritated me a lot when I was playing.

Well Liarashield
the entire thread was going well before the extremists came in and started to spit fire.... you came in very late. but, if you just look at the first 1-3 pages, you will see:
1. my Original Intention
2. Other Liara/ Non-Liara fans views on having more character content other than Liara
The Screenshot (as I mentioned earlier on this thread) was simply a "test" to see if people would read simply a page or two of my replies; and others who are of different fan bases.
like: Miranda, Thane, Jack, Zaeed, Grunt, Wrex etc...
Most of them understood my Original Intention. So it's no surprise, that I've ignored the extremeists. You would too, if You posted on BSN and have extremists comment on you........and simply not listen on anything you have to say.

I agree with that post, but after that it just goes to what you said you were not looking for - flaming and hating. But if you would've started the post differently, used a different title - you would've got some actual discussion. It's all about the first impression. Saying that it's a "test" is just wrong.Seifer006 wrote...

She did dig up the Crucible plans and funded the construction behind the scenes. But yeah, I agree that they could've done so much more with her being the Shadow Broker.EnvyTB075 wrote...
Shes a terrible shadow broker, she has the most annoying, nasally and girlish voice ever, she constantly states the obvious (even if she wasn't actually there; Eden Prime), shes your best friend even if you left her till last in ME1 to pick her up (and never spoke to her ever, not even to tell her you killed her mother), she constantly tries to get in your pants and to top it all off shes an Asari, a race clearly designed for straight male erotic fantasies that almost makes me ashamed to belong to the same gender as those utterly predictable "men" that went straight for the "space lesbians" romance option because blue boobies.
Enough reasons?
About the voice, that's a matter of opinion but I wouldn't hate someone for their voice.
Stating the obvious? I can't remember examples of this right now but usually that's a gameplay narrative choice to make sure the player knows what's happening. Just like James is there as a voice for people new to the series.
I wouldn't consider someone you never talk to as your best friend. But she will still be kind to you even if you're not to her, I'd say that's a great quality for a friend.
How does she constantly try to get in your pants if you never talk to her? And even if you do, you'd have to steer the discussion towards that.
And blue breasts are the source of your hate? Just joking.

To be totally honest - I wouldn't. As I would be expecting it to happen and accept it right from the beginning. To have a character just abruptly die without any beforehand info would be a different story.mnomaha wrote...
And I can guarantee you that if it were Liara they killed, you'd be crying your little ice-pumping heart out of your chest.
But don't get me wrong, I'm all in for having Thane cured as he was a cool guy and I don't see the appeal in hating characters that you're not personally romanced. Wish there were more of him and many others, I kinda miss Grunt. Might be it was to make room for future DLC characters.

So, Thanemancers are allowed to complain and not be challenged for it, while Liaramancers should just accept the raging against her character??
If nobody replied to these hate threads except the haters; I wonder if they'd get bored without having anyone to argue with? I'd love to see that, you know, for science.

To all Liara haters...
If it wasn't for Liara, there would have been no ME2 and ME3. She's Shepard's best friend weither you like it or not. When I learned about what she's been through for him/her, she became the ONLY romance option for me... I feel like if I would choose anyone else, it would feel awkward... Did any other squadmates, do as much for him/her?
In my opinion, the Mass Effect core team is;
Shepard, Garrus, Liara, Tali, Kaiden/Ashley and Joker... and Wrex too... Damn!! We need more Wrex!!
The rest are just along for the ride!
And... one other thing... Deal with it!

This thread was started in complaint about the screenshot but people have derailed it into an all out Liara hate thread. Sorry for trying to stay on topic.
My reply for people who say "Liara is shoved down our throats" is you need to learn how to play ME. I play my Ashley and Miranda romance playthroughs with no problem with Liara. Just learn to read and pick the correct dialogue options for the desired path you want. Sorry to say but Liara likes Shepard and yes she will hit on him/her sometimes, it's up to you to apologise and explain the situation to her, in some cases this is a bottom option, but that doesn't mean it's a renegade one just read and get the "top good down bad" idea out of your mind and stop blindly choosing dialogue wheel options and you'll be fine.
And as for things like Liara's dad calling you her boyfriend even if Liara isn't your LI well that's not Liara being shoved in your throat that's a bug and not intentional.

If you want real discussion. Discussions with Maturity & Intelligence. Then I'll direct you here:
Need More Wrex: DLC Suggestion
This is where I'm putting my efforts towards. This is for ME fans. Here on this page, I've compiled ideas, suggestions and have sent to Chris Priestly, that we can brainstorm Future Content for Wrex.
Also, on this page, Ive stated, that this isn't exclusive to Wrex but hoping to bring in other Great Characters with Potential. Like:
- Wreav
- Zaeed
- Grunt
- Miranda
- Jack
- Samara
- Thane
I think what makes a great dlc (and game) is too have great replay value. ME3 IMO doesn't have that. But this DLC (if were to be executed correctly) can have amazing replay value.
For example: Wrex can be killed in a import game. Wreav wouid replace him ( for Wreav fans) Also, each of those characters can be killed in ME2. This also adds replay value since they can be replaced similar to Wrex
What is needed most is an Amazing story. My suggestion is the Reunion of Wrex & Aleena ie Aria T'Loak
Video Evidence of that

Agreed, the whole "Paragon" and "Renegade"-thing isn't something important and is basically nullified with the new reputationsystem in ME3, but the problem is, Mass Effect 3 has nearly no dialogue options. The only thing we can do is simply not talk to her, which is suboptimal since she has the most screentime of all the characters in the game.
It bugs me to this day that I can't throw her out of Mirandas office... How did she even manage to install all those things in a matter of hours?!
On a side note I can't remember.. Can we tell Liara to get over the fall of Thessia and that the same thing happened to Earth and Palavan but on a much bigger scale? I don't think we can but I'm not sure.

Well obivously if your homeworld is on the brink of destruction and your entire race may be nearly wiped out I don't think you'd be able to smile or get over that much either but humanity hasn't been nearly destroyed so you wouldn't understand the pain she is going through.
