3) In my game, Garrus did far more for Shepard than Liara. When not forcing her presence on Shepard, Liara was thankfully generally avoidable (last mission in ME1 before Ilos, brief meeting on Ilium without doing LotSB, mostly secluded in her room on the Normandy in ME3 though the forced missions and room visits may have cancelled that out). Garrus provided love, support, companionship, peace, humor, loyalty and respect (i.e. was willing to let the dead lie, didn't hang on to her belongings, etc.) to my Shepard. Oh, the joy of being able to make some choices.

So you're saying Liara was forced on people when she's entirely optional except when she's required?

So Garrus should have been on Mars researching prothean tech?  Or Vega should have been the one making time capsules?  How come its always Tali when Im doing something Geth related?  Liara can provide all the things you mentioned that Garrus can to someones shepard.  So could Tali.  Its all preference.

The sad truth is Liara isn't given any more favoritism than any other squadmate - save for her avoiding death.  One can make the same argument about the VS.  And frankly, given how your relationships with other squadmates actually effects how certain events will play out - something Liara has no variables with - actually says otherwise to her importance.  She's there to provide context in regards to ancient history, and apparently appear in screenshots for DLC.  Everything else is optional.. and not nearly as oversaturated as some would think.

1. Yes, I am. Four missions and two room visits that should be entirely optional. I wouldn't say anything for one mission, two tops. But those and not being able to skip through all of her dialogue makes her very forced.

2. Did I say she couldn't? I'm talking specifically about my Shepard since the poster above told all people who hate Liara that 'Liara is ur bestest frend no matter wat!111!!!1@!1!!". And did I say any of the other squaddies should do whatever Liara has done? I'd be happier with a NPC prothean researcher (and if Bioware had wanted to and I suppose had the resources for it, they could have provided one) on Mars and.. I can't recall, is the time capsule scene optional? Can you tell Liara to go away before she enters the room or do you have to go through some scenes with her first?

Liara at last is decent enough to sob in private, while Tali needs to make a drama in public. And according to Asari to human years, Liara is just 10!
So yeah she can handle it better then anyone else.

Funny thing. That Bioware you're talking about? That's gone since 2007. Bought by Electronic Arts Inc.
To make it clear: Bioware IS EA. They just decided to keep the name because, wait for it.... Profit.

My whole point was that bioware has been or before was only about making great stories or great games of course they need money to make said games but it wasn't just about that but eas involvement is the question and whatever happended to pandemic studios?

Actually I have job at walmart not that it is any of your business lol but I think you're confusing a company that likes making great games and great stories for a company that has only been making new versions of certain titles without adding that much content to them and ended buying out bioware or combing bioware as one of their branches

but bioware was never about just the money otherwise I can tell you haven't played baldurs gate icewind dale or neverwinter nights

NWN, no. BG, BGII, KoTOR, DA, DA2, ME1-3, yes. What's your point?

Pandemic was bought by EA and then was closed by EA because....
Yep, you guessed it: Profit.

Context.

Would it make sense for Joker to be making the time capsule?  Or Chakwas explaining about Prothean text?

Fact is, everyone could be dead.  Liara was necessary as a plot mover.  Boohoo.  How many conversations can you have with Garrus?  Can we count the ones in ME2?  How many times do I HAVE to bring Tali along with me?  Oh right, thats ok tho since it pertains to her situation or her expertise.  You seeing my point?

Or does Liara need a sniper rifle for her moments to be acceptable?

Just explaining how bioware wasn't just about the money and how the way liara acts is totally reasonable and explainable and that liara has played a decent role in the story just like the other squadmates ^_^

Exactly each character or squadmate for certain situations fits the role that he or she is good at or ment to be in

Even if her behaviour is explainable and reasonable, that doesn't mean I have to like her and especially how I have to handle her according to Bioware.

Well obviously I cant get rid of edi on edis mission or tali on talis mission right so liara has a specific mission where she must come with you do you see the point I'm making here....

You don't have to like her. I respect your opinion even when I can't see the reasoning behind it (I consider all characters important for the overall story).

But what I am personally tired of - is this "spamming" of threads about how much someone hates Liara. Why can't someone just create a hate-group and discuss in there about how much everyone hates her, what would be the most satisfying way to kill her, how she rapes Shepard multiple times and the list goes on.

Both the haters and the fans who throw gasoline on the flames are to blame.

Because for some reason asking for people to be reasonable on bsn is like calling down a inferno from the sky.

Yes, I do see your point. Never said I didn't. Doesn't mean I have to like it.
The thing is I, and I believe many other people, hate being forced. Especially if there is no good reason and if it would be avoidable if things were just a tiny bit different.
Liara is just one example how Bioware forces things onto the player. I would love the OPTION to be mean to her. But I can't. I would love to call her out on her stealing Mirandas room (imo), but I can't. There are no Options for things like that because she's obviously Biowares pet in ME3. She can't die, I have to like her no matter what, etc, etc.
Do you see the point I'm making here?

EDIT: I never said I hate her. I just tested if me being basically an ass to her in ME1 and ME2 would change her behaviour towards me. It doesn't and that's what bothers me. That's (and her voice, seriously, I really don't like her voice) the reason why I don't like her.

Ah friend but why would you be mean to your squadmates that alone already questions your role as a commander?  But if you dislike her so much don't use her on any of your other missions also if you have low ems liara and whatever squadmate you have can die during the earth run... if you have the extended cut installed.

Ps Though if you do make liara die during the earth run please do not talk with me as I may no longer try to be civil with you

As I have stated before not using her is suboptimal because she has not only the most screentime but also, along with Garrus, the most banter in missions.
Also, I have edited my post but it seems I was too slow.. Care to read it again? ^^'

I can't be mean to Garrus or Tali iirc.
Why would you want a character deliberately dead?
It really doesn't look like you like her either so actually you're not forced to like her.
...
There are many people who will still be nice to you even if you're an ass to them. Especially true if you're a commander of the ship and the savior of the galaxy who kills thousands of people in a blink of an eye. And disliking someone because of their voice sounds horrible.

Nothing personal, I'm not replying to only you as those reasons are used by so many.

PS. Don't quote so fast haha.

I don't dislike her because of her voice. Believe me if I say I had nothing against her in ME1. And 2. Because I had the options to not like her (Doesn't mean I took them in my main playthrough, mind you). I don't have those options in ME3 anymore, because of her being the creators pet. Bioware restricts my choices of how I can interact with my crew and for that I dislike Liara (and not just her, I also don't like how Bioware handled Talis opinion on retaking Rannoch and handwaved it with "I talked to Legion, we're cool now.").
Just because she likes me doesn't mean that I have to like her. It's called roleplaying. Take that away and all you have is a long shooter with a few crew "interactions".
