Then you're playing with junk. I play with with where we use Shadows, Slayers, and the Fury, we can decimate the enemy pretty easy. It makes me laugh when you say it takes no skill or strategy. The Shadow itself doesn't have that many good powers. SS is pretty useless IMO, especially on Platinum. I bet you get mad at the Demolishers for spamming grenades too, I still have to laugh.

Thank you, someone with common sense. We all spam in ME3. Whether it's powers, grenades, or bullets, we all spam. I guess they expect power based classes to use 2 heavy weapons, and never use their powers.

Agreed. I skim the perimeters picking off the pests. But spamming is still great against multiple kooks.

Agreed. I'm in no way saying ES doesn't have uses, I'm only saying that these spammers aren't really doing as much as they could to help the team as a whole.

I only encounter this when I'm dropped into a FBWGG. I set it to random most of the time but when I do end up playing it, I usually avoid sniping due to the grenade/slash spam. If you really want to snipe, just don't play FBWGG since those spammers usually become corpses mid-animation in non farming games.

There's major issues with the classes, not the powers, if they are spammed endlessly.

You have to be high to think it's OK that this is how a great majority play these classes.

I mean even the horrid Krysae at least required you to look down your scope. These spammers hide behind a wall because the classes are worthless on any difficulty above silver for the vast majority of players and spam ES/BS over and over and over and that's it. That's all they got.

Thats probably because if they are specced as how the community views as 'correct', the shadow literally only has 650 shields. with the slayer faring a little better at...800?(i cant remember exactly, Slayer didnt interest me all that much).  One hit by a prime's cannon, or a rocket, or a hunter volley, and you're shields are already down, and if it was just 1 thing shooting you at a time, maybe it would still be manageable but we all know thats usually never the case. This is compounded by the fact that electric slash and biotic slash, and to a lesser extent shadow strike have horribly long animations in which you are totally vulnerable and you can see why they do it from behind walls.

If you engage a group and die multiple times, yeah, you're definitely a noob. If you SS the last enemy in a group and repeat the trick, you'll kill faster and safer than just mindlessly spam slash.

If you're mixing classes
and causing BEs, I'm probably not talking about you. I'm frustrated with people whose idea of playing a Gold match is to stand in one spot and spam one skill through the same wall for an entire match.

It would never have even occurred to me to play any character that way, but out of the four matches I played tonight, three were in FBWGG, and two of those were composed of nothing but people spamming Biotic Slash and Electric Slash. And when one of these people asked why I wasn't joining in, I replied politely that my spec is built mostly for Tactical Cloak and Shadow Strike. The collective reaction was disbelief and ridicule.

Shadow Strike deals about 4000 points (depending on spec and gear) of shield-gate-ignoring damage. Admittedly I play mostly Gold, and no Platinum at all, but executing a Phantom in one hit is a pretty nice ability to have. In fact it's so nice that, in a group that's actually interested in engaging enemies, it can almost trivialize fighting Cerberus, and take a great deal of pressure off in Geth and Reaper matches. It's far from worthless, unless venturing out of the FBW control room means you're soloing.

I almost feel sorry for some of the spammers. Three games today infiltrators that were close to them let them die. Slash/Smash is extremely annoying even as a non sniper if you are next to them, but people should at least revive them....unless of course you died standing in the same spot spamming a wall and get killed by something sneaking up on you. Then it's just funny.

complaining about biotics by wich are their main strength wich may clean 3-4 enemies on a row because you want to snipe 1 by wich theres a chance you may even fail.......

edit: not defending whole match one spot camping, but cleaning corridors and be on the move biotic slash is useful.

 Use energy drain,  overload or arc grenades and get huge tech bursts. The shadow is great for tech bursts as they get a 100% bonus on them.  You help the team out more by doing this. 

As for slash, just aim for the bosses. Slash is a bad boss killer.

I don't mind the power it self but the shaking is very annoying even with other guns it makes aiming very difficult.

There's a very valid point here. Screen shaking is either cosmetic, or an ill-conceived "synergy" mechanic. In either case, it would be better gone. But please don't blame someone for using a core ability. Blame Bioware for thinking shaking the screen around was a wise choice.

Electric Slash is a core ability for the Shadow. SS deals more damage, but has certain very notable drawbacks, especially regarding survivability. A shadow who doesn't ES will have to compensate that lack with weaponry, requiring bigger weapons, increasing weight, increasing recharge time, reducing effectiveness. And why would you be hugging so close to a Shadow anyway, as a sniper? You left your position if you are that close, or picked a bad position, meaning the Shadow is cleaning out all those enemies surrounding you at short range.
On the battlefield, the Shadow moves around very similar to a Krogan. Slightly longer range perhaps, but the two do move around similarly. Sticking to the Krogan that's running around isn't too effective either for a sniper, and the exact same applies to sticking with a Shadow.

And to clear the air, I don't spam it unless the situation calls for it, and on platinum, it most certainly does.

Wooow. I seriously take offence to that. I'm a girl, and I am MvP more often than not. Sorry guys, but this isn't the 19th century any more. I hope your mothers love you, because that's about as close as you are ever going to get to any self-respecting woman.

Either way, people can play however the hell they want. Just because they don't play the way YOU would does not mean they are "noobs."

Exactly, we all payed for the game, well most of us, so nobody will ever dictate to me how I play. I didn't understand his girl remark, must still live with momma, and hasn't gotten any before.
