It will expand on the origin maybe? Starbrat only provided an outline.

No. i'll not buy another thing for ME3. The EC did improve the ending but not fix how horrible the story telling is with the choice they made and the choices they stole from us. Not just during the ending but most of the previous choices from the first 2 ME games had thier importance voided. I'll just be watching a "Lets Play" on youtube to see the DLC.
