I would be happy if you, as a player understood how to spell rogue.
Do we as players understand how dangerous rouge Mages/Abominations are?

I don't know about you and other people, the way i see keeper Merethari is wise, she want to save Merill, she let loose the demon in the ruin and hope Hawke and friends can kill it. She also expect they kill her and so will kill demon too.
The one who is stupid is Merill, she never listen. She could have been a victim of the demon. She would have been a Keeper of her clan if she's not obsessed with that stupid mirror that don't even give reflection

I see Marathari as incredible stupid, never did it occur to her that perhaps it was not Merill that was the target, but her. She basically gave the demon what it wanted.

If Marethari was smart, why did she let Audacity free with her clan still at Sundermount? Why didn't she disclose her "discovery" to Hawke and Merrill before? It seems to me that Marethari fell prey to Audacity, and was the real target the entire time. Also, Merrill researched the lore on the Eluvian and extrapolated information from the shard; Marethari pulled conjecture and speculation from thin air; I trust Merrill over Marethari.

Well, maybe because i don't like the whole pointless quest that don't even give any answer about Elven history at all in the end, so i never mind who stupid or not stupid lols
As Hawke, it ain't my problem at all...if there is Elf origin in DA2, maybe the motivation would be different as an Elf. I have no motivation to side either with Merill or the Keeper. My opinion before is "neutral" in Hawke point of view...
Possible explanation is, she let loose Audacity in a ruin, and she's confident Hawke and friends can handle it, and it is proven Hawke and friends can handle it, if not then there is no story to tell, they all dead
And maybe you are right the demon target Merethari and not Merill, i just don't take seriously of the whole Merill quest in anyway, because i feel there is no relation at all with the big picture
