well, mass effect 1 had very obvious, gameplay and immersion breaking flaws, not to mention the fact that most of the choices were obvious as crap to be good or bad. Most of the choices in 2 were inconsequential, it was really only the choices in 3 that had a direct impact on story, whether that be because a beloved character dies or because of how they react to something you decided to do/not do. Argue what you will about the endings making any choices in the game erroneus (though that argument has since become invalid after the release of the extended cut), but there were FAR more game changing decisions in 3 than were in both 2 AND 1 COMBINED. Not to mention the fact that mass effect as a franchise diddnt become a truly good combat experience until the 2nd game and it really shined in the third. So really, would I buy 2 and 3 if they had been remade to be more like 1, arguably the worst installment of the franchise? No, unequivicably not under any cercumstances would I purchase those dated pieces of crap.
Would you, right now, buy ME2 and ME3 remade to be more like ME1?

No. I am with the very small minority who thinks that ME1 is the worst the trilogy... in a good sense.
agreed, it set up the franchise for greatness, but from combat to choices, to graphics to basic gameplay viability, the game was the lesser of the three.... It had some nifty ideas about how to get around problems w/o shooting through them but far too few, if that had been integrated into the 2nd and third I wouldn't be against it but 2 and 3 are still far superior

most people don't hate it, they just know it was the glitchiest most incipient form of the franchise.

Mass effect 1 had a great story, and I thought the narative was just fine. However, it was the least fun to play from a gameplay perspective.

If, if EAware made 2&3 in the image of 1, then yes I would buy the games.
I still can't figure out what the dev's were thinking with 2&3 and the removal of features from the first game.

I think you're trying to define Paragon & Renegade as being good and bad in Mass Effect 1. But they weren't, one of the themes in the game is how you operate within a moral gray zone, you aren't necessarily evil just because you're taking all the renegade choices.Morogrem wrote...

Let's take some examples: Killing the Rachni Queen. Is it "evil"? Considering the possible threat she could pose when you take the Rachni wars into consideration then no it's not necessarily evil. It's just a reflection of the renegade morality. To do whatever it takes to get the job done, that the ends justify the means.
How about Bringing Down the Skies. Is letting Balak killing the hostages "evil"? When you consider what he's done and what he could do again(to endager millions of lives), then no. It fits the renegade philosophy to sacrifice 5 people to save 4 million.
In Mass Effect 1 you are a Spectre and you are in essence a "good" guy.

No, unless there is pretty good customer response. I've been burned by BW twice already. (DA2 and ME3)

Thread hop: Yes, provided it was actually LIKE ME1. As in non-linear, not segmented to accomodate for disc swapping, possessed of proper sex scenes, with Shepard subject to the same floating and tumbling over as the enemies are.
With the ammo types being something other than "AP", "fire" "ice" and "lighting". Don't forget we also had "phasic" and "polonium". IIRC, they added phasic rounds in one of the MP DLCs... but not to SP.
With infinite ammo and overheating guns. With funky grenades of varying effects. With non-regenerating health. WITH THE MAKO.
I could go on indefinitely about this.
