Thank goodness the nerfers haven't found this thread. I can see it now....
...or it could be the people who have called for nerfs to -- what? -- two or three out of
45 guns total in the game actually want
balance. And, why, yes Virginia, that includes buffing guns that are currently underpowered too! I mean, I could go the low road and presume people hacked off about nerfing guns in this game are really just mad because they can't aim for **** and needed the krysae as a crutch, but I don't do that.
Now, on topic. Yea, I know the locust fired 550 RPM in ME3, but it also did 25 damage per shot with 1.25 modifiers against shields, armor, and barriers too. So, we're already breaking away from ME2 weapon stats in favor of an ME3-centric balance anyways, and low-RoF/high-accuracy
was the locust's niche there, so its functionality ought to be
adapted to ME3 rather than preserved outright. And, given the gun's comparative accuracy, that damage-per-shot isn't going to go very high without lowering its RoF, so may as well go whole hog on the niche.
It's a niche that's sorely needed among SMG's, anyhow. We already have the burst-fire and bullet hose SMG's, all that's needed is what the locust provided in ME2.
