What ever happened to just buying DLC for fun and for the story?

DA2 and ME3 happened

But da2 had good dlc

Who cares if the DA2 dlc was good or bad? Bioware did not fix chapter 3 so people did not buy the dlc's that is why they stopped making them.

They stopped making them to focus on the next game. The DLC actually did quite well.

Fact is a lot of people were disappointed with these games and I dont know how you spend your money but I want to give money to people who have done a good job in my opinion. I also doesnt change the ending which is disliked by a lot people.
And before you say "but almost no dlc changes the ending of a game. Get over it" all I can say is that I know no other game that has such a horrible and unfitting ending that people want it changed.

so what do you do for dlc in other games? do you not bother because that doesn't effect the ending ether?

Other games don't get me to invest over 2000 hours playing them and/or get me to actually care about the story or characters. .

Other games I play are usually just ways to waste time and I don't necessarily buy any DLC for them.

Other games don't tend to get me emotionally invested.

Other games don't have devs that take me to the edge of euphoria, promise me the world on a stick and then bring me crashing back down to earth by kicking me in the bollocks, then again in the face as I fall down while they whisper blatant lies into my ear.

ME3 is neither fun nor about the story, it's about making money. And that's the point of the DLC

You're right. I buy video games because they make me money.

I lol'd. That was a good one.

What's the point of every DLC out there?
To contribute to the raise of the money in devs' bank accounts.
Should DLCs be included in the game for free, especially if said content was developed along with the rest of the game? Yes, of course.
Are people ok with buying content that should have been in the game from the beginning?
Apparently yes.
So?
If people are ok with this, amen.

On a personal note, I'm not interested in this DLC since I don't like ME3 (as a whole, not just the endings). It will probably be a good DLC but as far as I'm concerned it won't add a thing to my experience. I will watch it on youtube, out of curiosity.

Wow, you just quoted a post without adding to it in any way. That's like, super-genius!

As for the argument, well, that was when I still wanted to play the base game. I don't want to play ME3 any more. Between the retarded premise (full scale Reaper invasion just does not work given ME1), ending (knowing that I'll have to have that conversation with Godchild with Shepard acting completely OOC makes me not want to play the game again), the annoying dreams and messed-up dialogue (Liara's double opt-in romance/constant friend-zoning), I just don't want to play ME3 any more.

Unless they fix some of those things, I won't play the game again, and obviously won't buy any DLC.

We already know we can't win with any weapons no matter how infinitely prepared we are. Shepard is killed so who cares about a few extra EMS points?

We like the game so we want more missions for the game that is why.

i agree with you we did love the dlc and want more missions

The point is:

*Getting more backstory about the Reapers
*Exploring mysterious places of the galaxy
*Playing ME3 is fun and I want more of it

The point is:

* Hoodwinking fans into thinking they will glean any more satisfaction from this story than they did from the whole game.
* Testing the water for whether the "buy moar DLC" design approach to this game will pay off after the furore and extended cut.
* Cashing in on the total confusion the ending to the first game caused.

And you know what? It will work. I am going to have to work VERY hard to avoid buying it.

yeah... i will too. I'm a total sucker.

But it's not right- you know- willingly making your ending, your story, ambiguous and unresolved, leaving the "quester" with so many questions... just to make some moolah.

It's not as if TV and film would ev-

I'm going to wait and see on this one. It does look cool but if all it is is Shepard flying around shooting things with a few lines of dialogue thrown in or if it's just the writers trying to hammer the point in about synthesis being the bestest choice EVER then I'm gonna pass. If it adds something substantial to the story and has a bunch of fun interaction with your squad then I'll buy it.

A trip to the movies costs 10 dollars easy for the ticket, another 6 for the food at least (Candy and Drink), the gas you need to get there, and 2 hours straight of your attention. And that's a one time venture
Leviathan, 10 dollars and you can play it a hundred times on fifty shepard saves you have and it will only be 10 dollars one time.

I'll get it, I can only play so much multiplayer and I don't feel the urge to create a new playthrough. More SP DLC is a happy middle ground for me. Even though that trailer was a whole lot of meh, I want to be proven wrong though.
