I actually enjoyed the EC endings. I like the fact that there was no choice that was 100% perfect. That is what makes it a hard decision with tons of moral weight. Otherwise everyone would have made the same decision. These endings make you really stop and think while trying to navigate the moral grey areas. It was emotionally taxing, not easy, and had an impact on the entire galaxy. A 100% happy ending would not have been nearly as creative, debate-inspiring, or morally heavy. If you ask me, endings that are rainbows and butterflies are crappy cop-outs that take little artistic risk, imagination, or emotional strain.

I've always said Control headcanon makes the most sense as far as Shepard living on.

Same here. Mass Effect NEVER gave us the easy way out, and that's what made it interesting. Even the decisions that seemed easy had a price. Saving the Council, for example, would mean that humanity would continue to be second-rate, and power would fall most easily from our grasp in such an instant. It's always been a balance of consequences. To that end, OP, you are deluded to think that an ending that you wanted will ever make it to the game... let alone inspire the same provocative debate that we all wanted.

Most of his posts are just spam as well that add little to nothing to the conversation at hand.

Besides that I don't rightly care if I'm banned or not. It can happen sure, but its not like its the end of my freaking universe getting a three day suspension or a permanent Banhammer on me.

From what I've seen, most people on BSN seem to dislike the ending. Or, at least, wish that it was done better. People who dislike the ending are also definitely more vocal than those who liked the ending though.

Personally, I found the original ending to be unnecessarily bleak, and the supposed "best ending" was confusing and pretty much came out of no where. In my opinion, the "Happy endings=bad" argument is just plain wrong. Keep in mind though, I'm not talking about a "and then Shepard destroyed all the Reapers with the help of the magical fairy unicorns, who then proceeded to help rebuild the galaxy in just a few days" ending, and neither is anyone else. Not that I've seen anyway.
An ending can be bittersweet, but still be happy. Why couldn't Shepard live, but with his survival be an underlying tone of all that was lost to defeat the Reapers?

Sorry for the rant, so I'll finish this up. I would definitely prefer to have a new ending. Am I part of the majority? From all that I've seen, which I admit isn't much, I would say probably. However, I could be wrong. But I know there isn't going to be a new ending, so at least I'm good with the EC.

What I meant was, you must be new and naive to think the BSN will ever be a place of normal discussion...though, I'm exaggerating a bit, it is when the rage about the latest game dies down.
