Bioware look, the majority of fans don't like the endings and the ones who do, if presenting with the choice, would choose a new ending over the old at the end of the day

I killed the reapers/ starbrat, I lived to fight another day (after some time in intensive care), I left the galaxy a future that we build ourselves free of the reapers, It wasn't without sacrafice but It was a war with all life on the line and the casualties were numerous, I killed the Geth not only to stop Reapers but also prevent another war with them, they were part of a brutal calculus, however nothing would change my mind, A perfect ending to this game would have been so cliched it would have made me feel like the reapers weren't a real threat and therefore devalue the series.

It's not about getting a happy ending but about getting appropiate endings which correspond with narrative and players choice.
people, well most people dislike the current endings because they make no sense whatsoever

Oh, another thread about the ending, how novel. Well, to answer OP's question, I like to point to the fact that Im in the audience. I don´t want to wright my own ending to the story, nor do I particularly enjoy when other people try to do that. I want the real ending to the story, as told by the storyteller, In this case Bioware. How I rate every aspect and detail of the story is irrellevent, only whether I like the thing or not. I do, some do´nt. But the thing is what it is.

OK, OP, so which new ending should BW give to their fans to be happy?

Sweet happyend reuninon?
Conventional victory end?
Dark matter end?
End without Catalyst?
End where is Catalyst presented by VS, LI, Anderson, Jenkins, Harbinger, Avina, Hackett or unknow alien?
End when Shepard refuse and still win?
End with boss fight?

Lots of demands here and result of your choice always be bunch of unhappy and angry fans.

Look I know you are tired of hearing this but look those of you who legitimately liked the endings are just tired of caring and you know Bioware has stated that they were not going to change the endings, so you have just given in to that fact.
.

Did you like the original endings ?

Everything goes back to the Endings folks we can deny it all we want, Bioware can dismiss it all they want but hey.........the fans are what make these companies money at the end of the day and all is said and done. If you don't like the word MAJORITY lets just say a whooooooole bunch of fans don't like the endings.

Who should Bioware please the handful over there in the corner or the bunches in the Mega City?

Now if Shep. was indeed indoctrinated..............well there is an app (thread) for that :P

Now, what if those of you who liked the original endings and the EC were given a choice between a totally new ending or the ones we currently have now? You can't tell me you would stick to the original if the new ending was totally redone of course depending on what the new ending would intel.

All threads I have read on BSN since ME3 came out have led to one thing always THE ENDING. A handful of fans like and accepted it but the majority did not and will not, but what if it was redone completely? how many of you would jump on the train???

I am not trying to be a troll or anything lol but Bioware know what we really want they just need to own up, in many circumstances pleasing everyone is not possible but in this case Bioware would be "pleasing" the majority of their fan base not just listening to a handful of people and then say "oh our endings were a success 50 people told us they enjoyed it" no, just change the crap endings for heavens sake.

they have already give us the EC which was more than they had to. I will put it simply no video game combany would and will never replace an entire ending afther the game is released it just will never happen. so you have 2 choices ether play the game with the ec or never play the game again it is just that simple.

you know.
in the 90's and early 2000 people who enjoyed a game had to wait years for a possible sequel that might never come.
now you have the possibility to expand the experience if you wish sooner rather then later. and you still whine.

In the 90s you had games like Fallout, Baldurs Gate, and X-Com ... I'd gladly go back to those days and play those quality games

Emo says a good ending has to involve character death.

People can't seem to understand the ending was atrocious, and it isn't because it wasn't a happy ending. Atrocious writing is atrocious.

Nope I don't like the original or the EC at all, but using what we got I just head canoned that my Shep was indoctrinated and eventually woke up and destoryed the reapers. Many others i am sure head canoned the same thing.

I kind of agree. I think that game developers should only change so much and then just stop. Because if Bioware were to alter the ending AGAIN, it would set a precedent in the future where if fans weren't happy with a game, they could just simply pull a Fallout 3/Mass Effect 3 and demand the ending be changed. This is not good. Am I defending Artistic Integrity? Kinda sort of. Think of the Extended Cut as like Biowares version of a Directors Cut. Changing the ending AGAIN would only further undermime their competence to make artistic decisions. Sooner or later, Bioware and other companies need to HOLD THE LINE.

this is 100% the way it should be. I dont even think they should have done the EC but it sure made me like the edning alot more and with it I was able to bear it. but really I hated the edning because it was not happy but then said it is a galactic war what did I think would happen.

We pay them money - they get us product. If this product doesn't meet our expectations then we don't buy it, right? They can keep their integrity and eventually they will run out of money. That's fair.Their choice.

Well, that's the thing ... without knowing what's in the hypothetical new ending I've got no reason to prefer it over what I've already got. Most suggestions on this board would make the ending worse. Many of the rest would'nt be worth paying for.

Absolutely right. Theres no way to look at the endings, and see any positives in it.

Its a black hole of bad writing.
