Bioware look, the majority of fans don't like the endings and the ones who do, if presenting with the choice, would choose a new ending over the old at the end of the day

Yes , if you repaint the Mona Lisa with the intend of creating art it would be art...if you bring a new perspective into it, you might convince others that it is art.

Art is subjective and relies on perspective...everything created with the intend to create art is art in the eyes of the creator.

Hat's of, good sir. This is a very valid respond and I have no good reply to argue it with. Image IPB

I think it's safe to say that the majority of fans don't know what the majority of fans want.

Majority doesn't quite fit... I wasn't a fan of the ending, but if anything, the majority of people were fine with the ending I would say. At least half of the people on the forums didn't enjoy the ending likely, if not more, but most people don't go on the forums, most people just play the game and get done with it without ever going on the site to talk on the forums.

The first sane thing I've read in this thread.

As much as I agree with you,
I'm not sure that's the majority anymore. Even if a lot of people who initially enjoyed the Extended Cut have seem to turn back to the Anti-Ender category.

Well to be perfectly honest, the ending is only part of the problem. Most of the game itself is crap as well.

True and that is often overlooked in favour of the endings. But it mustn't be forgotten that the ending is just the top of the iceberg in that it is the most visible part of the criticism towards Mass Effect 3.

Yeah, I want a better ending. No Space Wizard Children spewing Space Magic.

Doesn't bother me.

Now, will your new ending no longer come with hard choices that test Shepard's moral compass? Will it come with a miraculous conventional victory that nobody had any right to expect? Those things would bother me.

What hard choices? It's very easy to shoot the tube compared to wacky Space Magic or becoming the catalyst for all eternity. But whichever poison you pick, the goddamn idiot reigning over the universe for a billion years just made you his tool. Screw that.

And who needs a conventional victory when you have the mighty Crucible? All that thing needs to do is work.

That says it all.

For the record, I like the EC endings and I'm happy to keep them.  Can't speak for anyone else, and I wouldn't try.

  That is a Hard Choice

Wrong you make him yours, he is bound by the limits of the programing which you change by beating the illusive man and docking the crucible.

Stop thinking of the Catalyst as a person.

There is no Conventional Victory, they say that a hundread times

There are many more cathegories, though. People who love endings. People who don't care about endings, but love ME3 and can get over it. People who would love ME3, but dislike the endings and can't get over it. People who dislike ME3 overall, but are fine with playing ME/ME2. People who feel the whole franchise is ruined. People who feel the franchise and Bioware are ruined. People who think their life was ruined. People who think the whole world was ruined.

I dislike the surreal feel of the beam run/explore Citadel sequences and lack of work put into Priority: Earth. But last conversations with TIM and Anderson I like. Then there is Catalyst which I hate. On the other hand I'm at the point I can say I like the whole red space beam and slides and consequences and breathing Shepard of high EMS destroy. So my feeling about the ending in total are rather ambivalent.

I would like Catalyst kicked out, but the real ending ending is ok, so fixing it is nowhere near the top of my ME3 priority list. I'm ready for single player DLC and excited about it.

I believe there is a point where if after months, something does not satisfy you, that you need to walk away.

Bioware has drawn their line. This is as far as they are going. More complaining, more griping, now falls on deaf ears. They've made what they feel is a compromise, and will go no further.

Seriously, this entire episode has looked like a bad breakup between a couple that had been together for years. There just comes a point where, you just gotta go your separate ways, even though it hurts.

That time passed about a month ago. Please... for your sanity, just walk away.

Fans don't know what fans want.

Is that the QQ of elitism?

I'm still relatively new at this, in mid-June I was still window shopping at the BW store, trying to decide which merch to buy after finishing the game.

I don't feel done yet.

Well there's a huge difference between "fans don't know what they want," (implying an elitism that says fans are too stupid to know better), and "fans don't know what fans want," (which is that video game fans don't actually know what other gamers want and so they shouldn't claim to know that they do).  It's a very fine line when you just consider the words, but the meaning of each is very different.

This....

It's fine to have an opinion and all.....but I just don't understand the mentality of people that bash the game, say it sucks and that they hate it, yet, they still waste their time here day in and day out, whining about the same things and getting nowhere....its kinda insane......in all honesty, if I felt the way they do, I would've moved onto other games months ago....

There's a problem. "Don't like how game companies are getting increasingly contemptous of their customers and even their own products? Well, move on and buy some other stuff from them!"

You can move on and not buy also. The question is - how does the forum whining help?

Whining is just a word your parents used to shame you as a child.

Seeing any choice there is just lack of imagination.
