This kind of attention is really great for us, forumers (and makes Admin's job much easier).

Keep up and Balance ALL the things.

And since you're here... Will the missing mods require patch(download style) or they just need to be "unlocked" through .ini changes? Any ETA?

It's fine as it is after the nerf, don't go back on it just becaus ppl cry about not having another easy mode weapon

You don't even have the weapon, no wonder you think they did a good job, lol.

I have it at 2, got it within hours of the said nerf. Although I didn't get to play with it when the 2x multiplier was in effect (which would understandably alter other Phoon owners' perceptions) I do thoroughly enjoy it and find the damage output impressive.

Harrier hits damned hard, but very shallow ammo supply means it struggles against high health enemies (even amped you will most likely drain all your ammo before killing a Platinum Atlas). The Revenant, like the man said, doesn't get any of the ridiculously helpful anti-debuff bonuses of the Phoon.

Is it as good as it once was? Well, obviously not. Is it "useless?" Not by a longshot.

As always, we'll keep an eye on the balance of the N7 Typhoon, but if you have the weapon please test it out in game against different enemies to see how it feels. The numbers can often be deceiving so it's difficult to tell how effective a weapon is on paper.

Deal! If you could just tweak the RNG so I will actually get it ;)

They need a patch. Priestly already said that. I dunno' about any ETA though.

I still don't understand why an Ultra Rare needed a nerf. Their UR which means they should be OP.
The Typhoon is not Platinum worthy anymore........which is sad cause, I only have it at Lvl 1. And I was able to really help out my other teammates but now........it's outshadowed by lower class weapons when it shouldn't be.

I think the sweet spot would probably be about halfway between where it was and where it is now. Like 1.75 at full speed.

Eric, with all due respect, the weapon right now feels useless as compared to before. A Typhoon cannot take out an Atlas as quickly as before, has poor mobility and poor accuracy. Revenant outclasses it in mobility alone and at mid range it can take down bosses just as quickly. So I can't really see the 50% inherent bonus damage to protections because I played with both last night.

Before, it took me 160 bullets to kill an Atlas. Right now 220 bullets leave an Atlas with half armor. The damage output has been reduced drastically, including damage versus mooks.

To get the best out of the weapon you need to keep firing as opposed to any other assault rifle due to the ramp-up time. That, along with the fact it's an ultra rare should guarantee high damage output like it had before. Right now it's just a bad weapon to use, there are other weapons that do its job more efficiently without the necessity of you being exposed, taking fire or ramping up the weapon while a phantom's slashing at you.

Please consider increasing the ramp-up time to further reduce it's mobility (slightly) so the "hold position and supress" element is emphasised, but reverse the nerfs to damage and penetration. That way it will keep its niche as a deployable machine gun.

Thanks for opening a discussion about this.

^This.  And, Eric, if BW is so set on this nerf, get rid of the ramp-up and make it so a player is not exposed while using it.  Sp3c7er's observations re: Atlas are spot on, and add to this we're exposed, get snipered by the nemeses that always surround the Atlas so we have to stop, regain our shield gate, and then go through the ramp-up/shoot only to have our shields taken out again, makes this weapon post-nerf hardly worthy of the superlatives in the original post.

Is there any chance of giving other assault rifles a modifier to make them more useful against shields/armor/barriers also? If this were put in, maybe other assault rifles will suddenly become more viable on harder difficulties.

Wow, didn't know about this, not that it matters, I don't have it anyway. (gimme and ill test, k?)

But in all seriousness it sounds like it would still be a very good gun 50% is pretty big.

I think Bioware would tell you that they don't want anything to be OP. And why players would want OP weapons puzzles me.

100% Agree.

Because It's now outshined by lower class weapons on Platinum.

What about those of us who spent a good amount of real $ to unlock the Typhoon just to see its perfomance decreased?

Can I please get some kind of reply to this?

On my Destroyer, which is the only class I have ever loaded out with the Typhoon, the Typhoon still shreds the big guys. Where I noticed the difference the most was on the smaller, shielded guys like Phantoms, Marauders, and Hunters. I personally feel the nerf was overly harsh on a gun that was at most borderline OP and I no longer have the Destroyer on my Gold/Platinum roster.

UR weapons aren't made for Bronze/Silver Killahead.
It's made for Gold/Platinum. I would never take a UR on Bronze/Silver............it would defeat the purpose of what's it's intended for.

the Typhoon was made for Platinum (to take down Boss Type) enemies. That's what it's purpose was for. Because the nerf, that purpose is gone.

Read the other posts from Elite players, they're in agreement with me on this. This weapon shined on Platinum...it's glory has faded because of the unecessary Nerf

As others mentioned, I feel pre-nerf it just felt "right"...In order to compensate for the fact you really put yourself at risk because of the wind up the higher damage was necessary

One question, what level did you use the Typhoon at when your team were preforming these tests?

This is what is wrong with the RNG system. Anyone can accidentally end up with a typhoon. Ultra rare? Not really, cuz once everyone has one, it's all they use. At that point it becomes necessary to "balance a weapon". In all honesty, if they made a normal store system, they could just make such weapons intensely expensive. That way only people who really want and new it will be able to save up for it. That way you could claim, " oh it's okay that it' so powerful, it's the only thing I have purchased from the game store in 2 months!". Then weapons would have a reason to have different damage levels instead of all being the same but "different".

Before you flame... No I do not have the typhoon. My statement above had nothing to do with the weapons performance.
