Thoughts on the N7 Typhoon

The lack of accuracy more than balances out the damage boost.
I like it on my destroyer with his big accuracy buffs but wouldn't use it on other classes.

I love the Typhoon. I have it a level 10 and it absolutely kills everything, even after the "nerf".

LOL. You must be playing different games. I played with Specter and he emptied clip after clip on his Typhoon X and still could not bring down a Banshee.
That guy has posted many times that he only plays Silver, so you can consider that point invalid.
Lol, precisely. Let him take it Gold/Platinum. It will absolutely kill nothing.
I'm going to be using the Harrier or Revenant now on my Destroyer. Someone might say "But the Harrier has horrendous capacity" , true, but you'd pretty much be running to ammo boxes the same amount as you do now with the Typhoon 'cuz without mods/amps/equipment it feels like it shoots marsmallow fluff on gold.

Such a statement is a clear indicator of exactly how little time you spend PLAYING the game instead of drooling over mechanics. With all respect, just shut up already.death_for_sale wrote...
The Wraith is currently the 3rd best shotgun in the game. Your last statement is a clear indicator of exactly how little you know about the mechanics of what you are using.
3rd best shotgun?
Piranha, Claymore, GPS, Reegar are all better
so maaaaaybe 5th?
Pretty much.
Currently the order of win is: Piranha, Claymore, Reegar, GPS and then Wraith. Though the Wraith is arguably the second best caster-class shotgun in the game (was recently dethroned by Piranha for top-tier in the caster-shotty category).
The Talon is a better caster shotgun than the Wraith.

Specter this, specter that.. why you don't try yourself ..
And see YOU emptied clip after clip on YOUR Typhoon X and still could not bring down a Banshee

I had Hornet X in second slot - it was better against Atlas. And I think my Harrier II is three times better than Typhoon.
My opinion is that Typhoon I is inaccurate and ineffective - even one of the worst ultra rare weapons. I don't even want to try it on classes that aren't supposed to use it.

Well specter went to a lot of trouble to produce a video showing the degree of the nerf ( its on page 10 of this thread ). In case you did not see it took him 6 seconds with tricked out comsumables to take out an atlas on platinum before the nerf. After the nerf it took him 13 seconds with the same consumables. Specter has also posted somewhere in these many pages that since the nerf it is not worth using on platinum anymore.
The typhoon is also a lot weaker to me as well, but then again my opinion might not impress you because I have not soloed any difficulty, much less platinum. I also don't have any video both pre and post nerf to compare.

I would like to see a slight damage buff with a slight nerf to the ramp up time to rebalance the weapon bit, make it even less mobile but slightly more damaging.
Because that fits my playstyle with it better.

They unpinned it because the new changes are going to go live. If they left it pinned we'd have 2 pages of pinned topics.ryoldschool wrote...
lol, they unpinned it so I guess they are about to rule on this subject. And notice that nobody from bioware responded since four days ago,.

Are they gonna unnerf it ?
Maybe they just want it to go away. Maybe they're making room for the inevitable whining about the Piranha nerf.
Maybe they nerfed it more than they thought they did and will buff it to 1.68 to compensate (1.68*1.34=2.2512, which is roughly equal to what may have been the intended nerf, 1.5*1.5=2.25). Probably not, though.

I wonder if they unpinned it because they are buffing it this week or because they think that the anger here is self sustaining and spreading.

I agree with this.

DPS is waaaaaaayyyy down since the nerfs Eric. On Platinum, the weapon is borderline in its usefulness outside a select few classes.
Leave it alone and bring the Krysae back to up to useable status instead. Much too harsh of a nerf on that weapon.

While I understand what you are saying, you have to take into account time spent out of cover, time to ramp up the weapon etc. Yes it has the damage bonus, but nerfing it anymore will relegate the weapon and its bonuses to moot status.

Leave it alone? If they leave it alone it will still be broken. As matters stand now, it is worthless as an ultra-rare.
Sure I can still beat Platinum with it. But I can beat Platinum with a Disciple too. Doesn't make it efficient or fun. I hate shooting marshmallows.

I mean they went back on a vindicator nerf and more than likely going to go back on a piranha buff...

It's really not. It's reasonable strong compared to some of the more lackluster rare and UR weapons but it's goit nothing on spamming biotic explosions, which does a great deal of damage over a decent area, consumes nothing, and hardly puts you out of cover.Barneyk wrote...
The Typhoon is still incredibly powerful, I kinda miss the old version but I can see why a nerf was in place.
Compare that to standing there getting the **** shot out of you to do damage to a single target and all of his buddies wail on you too because you can't kill them all at the same time like with a BE.
The best guns need to be strong or the same old metagame of casters banging out the sore butts of non-casters is just perpetuated.

No offense, but Eric is leaning towards nerfing it further and it seems buffing isn't even an option if that post indicates anything. My post was telling him to leave it alone. The weapon isn't a worthless UR either, stop exaggerating. You want useless, look at the Particle Rifle. Typhoon is still a good weapon, but it is really selective on what can use it.
I truly don't understand how they can even entertain further nerfs to this weapon.
