It is still epic.

I love it.

Slap a level 3///4 mod on it and it will destroy everything in your way.

To be honest it still works pretty well. I have been playing around with it for the last 2 days. But to make it effective i have to slap up some heavy duty shield/ammo boosting consumables. Without a cyclonic mod 3 or 4 and ammo lvl 4 you just won't be able to stand in the open and deal damage. And this is just on the destroyer.

I also tried it on the demolisher but looks like i will stick to the destroyer+typhoon combo. On any other class/character its just a chore to use as the stagger & re-spin again makes it frustrating. Not to mention it loses all the firing rate & accuracy bonuses that the devastator mode gives it which makes it effective.

I don't know why it has a damage bonus to armor it should just shoot really really fast and have some decent damage and if you want a damage buff on anything just use some level 4 equipment in sure most people have enough if it.

just put it's default armor piercing capability back to where it was when it first came out. that'll more than make up for the loss in damage of the recent nerf.

People were not upset about the penetration nerf but the damage nerf. The penetration nerf was justified as it was way more than even the sniper rifles. The damage nerf was not too good.

Can anyone confirm that the AP mod or AP ammo causes a damage bug? I was noticing that I did much less damage with AP ammo equipped compared to warp or incendiary.

The damage loss is not so bad on Gold (I use it with the Destroyer and EB + clip mods) but on Platinum it's noticeably weaker.

A Mattock X with a firing script on a Destroyer can kill an Atlas on Gold in 2 extended magazines (about 68 bullets) with the right setup. It will take a Typhoon I far longer to do the same.

AP Ammo is bugged in that it doesn't work on whatever the game considers your secondary weapon. This will always be the lower level weapon of the two you bring into the match. So if you have a Piranha X and a Typhoon II, the match will start with you holding the Piranha and AP ammo won't work on the Typhoon.

^This, but it actually may work at a highly reduced effect.  If your "secondary" were to be a gun without innate armor piercing, and you had AP Ammo III, you would still penetrate Guardians' shields with the "secondary," but with much difficulty.  Quite noticeable.  I have also found this to be true with Disruptor Ammo. 

Also, even if you have guns of equal levels, the one you don't start out with will be considered your "secondary" and will also have a reduced effect.  I assume there is a heirarchy with gun classes.  With an AR & SG at equal evels, the AR will be considered Primary.

The flamer power can kill things faster than the typhoon 1 can. It's currently a giant paper weight sitting in my inventory when I have a harrier 4 and a PPR 3.

Pre nerf, the Typhoon 1 was about as strong as the Typhoon 10 is now.

And since the destroyer got nerfed can we please have our old typhoon back?

I think my hurricane can kill an atlas just as fast. So an SMG kills at the same rate as a 2.0 weight ultra rare assault rifle with a 4 shot ramp up period.

I agree that it should be buffed somehow. Not sure if they should bring back the ramp up multiplier back to 2.0, that would make it completely outclass the PPR (PPR right now is better against bosses but Typhoon is better against mooks due to the faster ramp up time), but then again the Typhoon is way heavier so there's that.

I do wonder if having its damage reduction from cover feature actually working would be enough... eh, hard cover, meh, yeah, wouldn't really be enough.
