Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't really see what the 'achievements' do at present, besides being some sort of visual trophy, to show others what one has accomplished in the game.
But what if achievements actually unlocked additional content within the game?
For instance, say killing 1000 darkspawn achievement, gave your character a new cool sword, he could buy at a particular vendor.
Or say, completing the romancing Leliana achievement, would unlock some sort of 'additional' dialogue for her in a second playthrough, or make it easier to romance her the second time around.
I'm just throwing ideas around...
Any thoughts?
Achievement Usage Ideas.

While it sounds like a good idea it's not very immersive imo. I kill 1000 Darkspawn and suddenly I have a very powerful sword.
And it's not as easy as it seems. What if I'm a Mage? Then I might be disappointed when I get only a sword (instead of a very powerful staff). Sure, the reward can be different depending on your class, but the game doesn't know whether I prefer a bow or dagger as a Rogue (or an Axe or Sword as a Warrior).

To be quite honest, I missed that. In Mass Effect, getting Achievements actually did things in-game. The achievements weren't there for show; they actually did thing. I wish they'd done the same thing with Dragon Age.

well "I am a big deal" should really have opened up a new Difficulty. Nightmare++
I don't think getting "items" is the right way. maybe unlocking further talents. or empower existing on the character that meet the achivement.
