im going to make this quick because im on my phone. i remember during an interview mike laidlaw said he wanted to get rid of the option to have two classes. some may find this disturbing, but he also said that with getting rid of the option to having two classes, you would have one class with a story. so say if you were to chose blood mage, your story would probably be attacking templars for use of your blood magic, or more use of the fact that blood mages can trick/read minds. f you were an assassin, your task would be to, well assassinate someone. do you guys think that it ould be an equal trade. personally i use one class anyway so i aprove of it

I don't remember him saying such...

He was speaking of specializations and he wasn't talking about getting rid of them either. He was saying that specializations could impact the plot in someway. For example, being a blood magic should have consequences in the next game.

I was mistaken then, thanks for the clarification. This would be an improvement i would like to see in regards to story  &  gameplay segregation.

not getting rid of classes, getting rid of the amount of multiple specializations. They want to make less specializations but make them more specific/grand and then have (side) stories based on what you choose. At least that was how I understood it. It's from the PAX panel.
Here is the panel

and here is the Q&A, I think it was talked about in the Q&A:

yeah its specailizations he was talking about, i think he also wanted classes to have some effect to the story as well. he just meant that you can choose from all the specializations but you will only be able to acquire 1 of them so that it impacts the story some

My fault in saying class, yes I meant specializations that's why I said Blood magic, and don't make fun of my typing... you seriously can't write on the forum with a phone, it was really hard. -.

I'd very much like for specializations to have more of an impact, and not just be additional talents. If they help define my character and have some relevance to the story, then that could only help me connect with my character more and be able to roleplay them a bit.  I'd like for someone who's sick or injured to ask my spirit healer for healing, or perhaps they'd run in fear from my blood mage or reaver.

By removing specializations, I hope that means that they are consolidating them. Some of the specs do overlap a bit. Perhaps in DA3, one spec would be more offensive, while the other would be more defensive/support.  It would also be nice if there was class-specific equipment that would help my character look the part of their class, like templar armor for a templar character, or some dark hooded outfit for my shadow/assassin.
