allright I do not know if this thread is the right place to post this thing but atm after seeing the new ME wiki about turians and the new garrus comic from darkhorse i simply do not care

first i will show you this
http://masseffect.wi...com/wiki/Turian
Posted Image

now if a Mass effect wiki already put in those text that can only mean that the general members of Mass effect fan agreed on this idea that female turians is okay to be bald...
No... seriously....as a fan who appreaciates the look of this species making the female bald is unattractive at all and i refuse to believe its going to be canon in the future
first there is this
Posted Image

and now garrus mom also bald? really?
Posted Image

only because there were 2 pic showing them bald now the whole community is ok with them being bald?
Now bioware I am a bit pissed when you do not make the turians in ME3 showing any female (even garrus sister??? after hinting her in the ME2 DLC) despite the fact that you make almost all the other major species showing their females like the krogan and the salarian (even though they're basically just male models wrapped in more blankets :C with different Voice actors)

but ... really rather than having them being bald i prefer them to have a crest/fringe like the male!
I mean just make them like exactly like the male but shorter! I'm ok with that!
I mean even GARRUS in ME2 romance make a compliment that say "If you were a turian, I'd be complimenting your waist or your fringe."
so....doesn't make sense complimenting someone's bald fringe now is it?

seriously bioware I do not know if these bald fringe idea came from Dark horse comics (which i might say is again..bald and ugly) or you but if you decide to make the female turians bald in the future and in your future games I think you're going to have a bit of a backlash, not as big as the dissappointing ending before the extended cut DLC, but still a bit noticeable.

I mean look at some of these females OC made by your fans
http://o-wingedpanth...path=/#/d57z29n
http://subzero-ryuka...o-ryukami&qo=49
http://subzero-ryuka...set=96#/d3dl1g8

These are just some of other turian female OC out there! Now ask this questions to yourself
Will they be as graceful as they look if they were bald?
I don't think so

also Now do you prefer your female human partners in real life to have hair? or bald?

.....yeah that answered the question themselves doesn't it?

PS: i would like to make a poll if the people on this communiity prefer female turians bald or with fringe to show my point but i dunno how to put in a poll

Why is it a bad thing that they are bald? They are aliens. The idea of aliens are to be alien to humans. If they are so damn similar then they really aren't that alien. The differences are what make the species' in ME so fascinating. I would much rather have a boobless, bald female Turian, than a boobed, dreadlocks female.
That may just be me, but I'm alright with them being bald, because it is... Alien.

I’m adding further features deemed attractive by humans. Would Liara or Tali be nearly as well loved if they were boobless? Anywho that’s not my main point. My main point is... So what if they are unattractive? We have yet to see a Female Turian in-game, till then this is still up in there, and they are a different species; therefore it perfectly reasonable for said species to have characteristics which are deemed unattractive by other species. That should be more prevalent in ME, due to it being a sci-fi involving multiple alien species. Alien being the operative word.

When they introduced Eve into ME3, nobody had a problem with her just being a good ol' Krogan with a "feminine" voice and a headdress. They're not gonna make a Turian with long blonde hair and a pair of giant melons and call it a female. You can't really make these alien species (with exception to the Asari) sexy eye candy. If you wanted something to look at, play some other game.

Turians and humans have different perceptions of beauty. Turian males find small fringes attractive whereas most human males like women to have hair.
I agree with the DarkWolf. Turians are an alien species and I should not be finding them attractive. The lack of fringe helps create a distinctive look between the different genders of their species that is non-existent with the krogans or salarians.

That's not the point. The point is that removing the fringe and calling it a female is extremely cheap and lazy, especially when Garrus explicitly states in ME2 that male turians are expected to comment on the fringes of the females. If they don't have fringes to begin with, what the hell can the males comment on?

My solution: reduce the size of their mandibles and make their facial features and body shape less blocky and jagged. No boobs, obviously, but wider hips in the case that turians breed live young. Oh, and something like this in addition to the normal fringe:

Also, I really like this one. She still looks alien, but she still has a feminine look to her.

Would be better if she wasn't an infiltrator given that Garrus is one.

The bald design makes sense for females, though I agree it doesn't look as pretty as the fringe, haha. Look at it this way. They are supposed to be closest, physically, to Earth avians. Male birds are almost always more colorful than females, and will sometimes have a similar fringe when the females don't. Take a look at male and female turkeys, cardinals, and, most notably, cockatiels. See a bit of a pattern?

*edit* Took out the pictures because it messed with the post.

This topic again. I fear we may never see female turians and so the debate is moot. I support a short fringe and wide waist, for what its worth. The comics are inconsistent, just look at Evolution. I would not put much stock in them, they get lots of little details wrong for a variety of characters.

God no, I don't have anywhere near the skill to make something this pretty.

I found it here, and it belongs to a user called Anti-Matter. Don't know if he or she has a DA account.

I actually find bald women sexy. At least the ones that can pull it off well, like Natalie Portman. Example of somebody who CAN'T pull it off: Britney Spears.

Just sayin..

*SPOILER ALERT FOR DIALOGUE IN MASS EFFECT 2*
I really agree with that. But the head fringe, I mean, why don't females have head fringes? If you play female Shepard and romance Garrus in ME2, Garrus says "If you were a turian I would be complimenting your head fringe..." I know Garrus took a rocket to the face, but he ain't blind! Especially with that eye piece. Everyone respects someoen with a mechanical monicle XD

Why should the design of female turians conform to some human concept of femininity?

.... I'm so torn. Do I argue against the OP on feminist principle because the idea that "wimmins gotta be ~sexay~" is heinous and vile? Or do I argue for the OP on scientific principle and lore fidelity because it would be difficult for the turian species to exist if half their population lacked the imperative natural protection from the sun that marks all native Palaven life and tended to die of irradiated skull by the age of ten?

A conflict of choice worthy of BioWare's best game writing.

Maybe complementing their fringe is like saying to human women "they look thin and great" even when they do not in fact.

They shouldn't, but the design should NOT be as lazy as "take male, remove fringe, call it female".

First off, let me say I am sooo happy to see a discussion about this topic. I just noticed the whole Garrus-complimenting-fringe vs. wiki-saying-no-fringe contradiction. If they didn't contradict, I wouldn't mind the baldness, for what it's worth, although I do think a smaller crest would be more visually pleasing.

My main pet peeve is that most posts I see say female turians should be smaller than males. In birds, reptiles, and dinosaurs the female is the larger one. I think seeing some buffer and taller females would make turians look even more alien. Which I like.

They probably shouldn't have boobs given that they're like birds. Do turians lay eggs?
