Anora and Cailan

Cailan was unfaithful and Anora isn't exactly the most loving girl out there. She probably cut the guy off after finding out and never touched him since.
Put me in Loghain's shoes and my son in law was cheating on my daughter with abandon... rofl I might leave him to die on the battlefield too.

I missed this, I just got the dialogue about how much Alistair looked like Cailan. I guess that's the case? I don't know- I'm still waiting for my side-by-side screenshots.

Personally, I think the King was being told off for coveting Duncan's beard too blatantly. True commanders are clean-shaven. Beardie guys are only good at hallucinating magical dragons and picking up Orlesian STDs.

Here's hoping this works:

The noses, eyes, brows are nearly identical and the jaws and lips are darn close. Alistair's got some more color to him, but I can see how Anora would be disturbed marrying him - they could've been twins.
ETA: Yaaay! I didn't kill the code!

"But how do you know I'm not Cailan?"
"I know because..."
"How do you know?"
"...I just know..."
"How do you know?!"
" Because I never loved him the way that I love you!"

Other less likely scenarios: the argument was about Anora's childlessness. Was Cailan planning to do a Henry VIII? Or possibly it was about Cailan's women, who're discreet but not quite discreet enough.
So what do you think?
All normal couples fight. It's the most natural thing, and we may be reading too much into it. Of course Loghain being the father would be concerned and ask Cailan why he made her daughter cry, etc.
And kings and queens during the medieval ages tend to sleep around. Either power makes you cheat on people, or they never really loved each other due to arranged marriages.

"Cheating" has never been limited to just the nobility, trust me. It's just a part of human nature... What is unnatural is monogamy. Not even swans are monogamous. (Swans are often held up as representative of the monogamous "ideal", but science has shown that even they "cheat".)
Also, arranged marriages are one of the greatest evils of humankind, as far as I'm concerned.

That's not correct. Monogamy means that in general you have one partner at a time. Polyamory means that in general you have several partners at a time. The problem is that Western culture defines polyamorous and monogamous behavior in too extreme a manner; to be monogamous, we say, you must ALWAYS have only one partner at a time, no exceptions. That’s unrealistic.
To use a metaphor, my cat is a carnivore. All cats are carnivores. My cat sometimes eats grass, leaves, and other greenery. Does this mean that my cat is actually an omnivore? Of course not.
Monogamy to polygamy is a scale, and describes a species' behavior *in general*. *In general,* humans are monogamous because they habitually settle in with a single partner for an extended period. Even individuals who consider themselves polyamorous rarely show anything close to the level of partner hopping you see in cats or bonobos.

But Alistiar likes to do it face-to-face while Cailin likes to do it nuggy-style, so Anora will never be able to appreciate the difference.

Maybe in countries with one of the highest divorce rates. Though the problem isn't with marriage, it's that some people are incapable of marriage. Marriage works for some people.
