IF Duncan is the survivor how much awesome would that bring to the storyline? Would Alistair still /partyquit if you let Loghain live? Would Duncan quit? How would you still be party leader?

I've got my fingers crossed for the survivor to be Davareth.

Duncan wouldn't quit, he'd say #*@# you guys and kill him immediately afterwards with no regard to the consequences whatsoever.

I really think Duncan would recruit Loghain, and bslap Alistair into compliance. However, I have a feeling that the sole survivor of Ostagar is going to be Dog.

My PC would have to kill him (again?) on the spot.

No one's gonna get in my way of being the Leader!

Duncan couldn't be a party member, it'd be too OP. I hear his beard dual-wields battleaxes.

You could, it would simply unlock a 5th level of difficulty. Easy - Normal - Hard - Nightmare - Duncan.

Duncan surving would add nothing to the story. It would actually hurt it. There would be no more need for you to lead the charge against the blight. Besides his time was almost up anyways. Even if he surviived he would have died or gone mad anyways.

It would take far too much new voice work to bring back Duncan. In Alistair's dialogue, especially. Though if Bioware has gone with Duncan, the people who think Alistair complains too much would be pleased.

Alistair: I'm just feeling a - well - things get to me sometimes. I still can't believe he's dead.
PC: Who?
Alistair: Duncan
PC: Duncan? He's just standing over there. Look, he's eating a ham sandwich!
Alistair: Because - I didn't know him that long, but he liked me, he liked Alistair, not Maric's bastard.
PC: And now he's doing his impression of Loghain running away from Ostagar...
Alistair: He was great, you know? When all this is over, I'll see about putting up a memorial to him. Duncan shouldn't be forgotten. Not after all he's sacrificed.
PC: And he's doing his 'Life is Awesome' dance by the campfire. Shale's joining in!
Alistair: So Duncan's really...? Oh, right then. Let's move on!

Duncan's beard is actually a living creature. When Duncan was slain, his beard detached itself and wandered around the south of Ferelden looking for a suitable host.

Rumours abound of a facial-hair clad Dragon terrorising the Korkari Wilds.

I don't think you'd find Duncan alive. His death wouldn't have much impact if he was, well, not dead. If you did find him, he probably wouldn't join the party.

I expect it would be somebody we haven't met before. Possibly another Grey Warden.

I don't even thin Alistair would get further what a shocked what.  Duncan would just look at him and he would try and get his father figures approval.  Only to turn around and knock the PC's approval for not doing anything about it.

I would like Duncan to come to Alistair or the PC in a dream, to start off the expansion.  But it couldn't be Duncan talking.  I'd like to see some dreams with Duncan's beard making an appearance until it dawns that Duncan is contacting fom beyond the grave.

I just would love to see Alistair say, by Duncan's beard.

The only way it would hurt it the story would be leadership conflict, but then that might be an interesting mechanic maybe. Or they could just use the its the young's time to shine convention or something. We never actually saw Duncan die, that ax was going straight for his beard; a big mistake for that darkspawn.

If the companion is Dog I swear I better be able to have two mabari in my party

This post is awesome. I  especially love the 'impression of Loghain running away from Ostagar...' bit. :D

He's probably doing this with the rest of the other Ostagar survivors.

Duncan is most likely dead already, but look on the bright side he'll make an awesome one of a kind bearded hurlock for the new DLC which we could fight as a boss... (hopefully)

I want Duncan to remain dead, idiotic ass that conscripted me against my will. What do I care for the Blight.

Force the PC to kill Duncan :3

He's close to 'losing it' anyways. Have the PC go through some dialog, give Alistair some mental scars, and have the PC combat Duncan's beard.

Hey it could be Duncan to give you some last minute advice/instructions before he goes down to the Deep Roads to die with honour killing the darkspawn, the way Wardens do when their time comes. I mean he was getting close to doing that anyways right, n we never did see Duncan actually getting killed. The screen just went blank at that particular moment.

What do you mean by "the survivor"? Did I miss something cause I'm pretty sure he died?

There's supposed to be a survivor or survivors of the battle of Ostagar that will be detailed when they release the DLC.

*Cutscene of Duncan stealthing behind your party the entire time and laughing when Alistair runs off crying.*
