I remember going into a gold match with no consumables equipped and only Hydraulic V gear and if you kill someone with SS you should still be able to kill a phantom with the DOT if you spec fulling into damage on SS and duration/melee/power bonus on TC and power in the passives and to rank 5 martial artist on Fitness. So bassically:
TC: 4a5b6a
ES: left over or put into SM/N7
SS: 4a5a6a
N7: 4b5a left over or put into SM/ES
SM: 4a5a left over or put into ES/N7
Any weapon with melee mod, and Hydraulics Gear V.
And you should be able to kill a phantom on gold if within 20 secs of you killing someone with a sword. And if not you only need a strength I-III or a Power Amp I-III to make up the small difference.
Edit: If my math is correct.
Shadow Strike= (600) (base value)
+ 20% (120) Shadow Strike 3
+ 30% (180) Shadow Strike 4
+ 50% (300) Shadow Strike 6
+ 15% ( 90) Sword Mastery 1
+ 20% (120) Sword Mastery 3
+ 30% (180) Sword Mastery 4
+ 5% ( 30) N7 Shadow 1
+ 5% ( 30) N7 Shadow 2
+ 10% ( 60) N7 Shadow 4
+ 15% ( 90) N7 Shadow 5
+ 40% (240) Tactical Cloak: Damage Bonus
+ 50% (300) Tactical Cloak: Melee
+ 25% (150) Blade/Stunner/Omni Blade Attachment
+ 15% ( 90) Hydraulic Joints (5)
+ 50% (300) Martial Artist
Equal = 2880 Damage, then you add on the DOT * 1.4 and you get 4032.
A gold phantom has what? 1687.5 Barrier and 2362.5 Health so about 4050.
4050 - 4032 = 18. You're a breath away from killing them. And nearly any extra Strength/Power Amp consumabmles or a gun shot before or after does the trick.
Tactical Cloak: Damage Bonus is counted twice
25% Blade/Stunner/Omni Blade Attachment is a multiplier
40% DoT
Phantom Gold Barriers/Health (3050/1687.5)
+ 20% (120) Shadow Strike 3
+ 30% (180) Shadow Strike 4
+ 50% (300) Shadow Strike 6
+ 15% ( 90) Sword Mastery 1
+ 20% (120) Sword Mastery 3
+ 30% (180) Sword Mastery 4
+ 5% ( 30) N7 Shadow 1
+ 5% ( 30) N7 Shadow 2
+ 10% ( 60) N7 Shadow 4
+ 15% ( 90) N7 Shadow 5
+ 80% (480) Tactical Cloak: Damage Bonus
+ 50% (300) Tactical Cloak: Melee
+ 15% ( 90) Hydraulic Joints (5)
+ 50% (300) Martial Artist
Equals 3450 damage, then you multiply the base by 1.25 for Blade/Stunner/Omni Blade (4312.5), then add DoT .4*(4312.5) to 4312.5 intial damage which equals 6037.5 total damage.
A Phantom 3050+1687.5= 4737.5
4737.5(initial) -4315.5= 422
1725(DoT) - 422 = Dead Phantom

That sounds about right. I knew it was at or over 5000 since a Gold Cerb Turret has around 4700 total health/shields.

When I play with her I tend to avoid the bigger enemies (Banshees, brutes and primes) unless they are the only ones left. I feel i'm far more useful going around and taking out the lower health enemies (pyros, rocket troopers, marauders, centurion etc.). Were not quite as useful on the big bosses so I just avoid them altogether unless I desperately need shields or they are the only enemy left/visible in sight.

that 50% for 20 sec for Sword Mastery 5 is VERY IMPORTANT. things get super hairy in Platinum...so you wont have the time to take advantage of it on a regular basis as you might in Gold.
I spend A LOT of time running and hugging cover in Platinum....so Tactical Cloak 4 set for duration saved my life many ah times.
with my play style with the Shadow....an EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE INDEPENDENT OPERATOR working away from the group...i kinda get myself in trouble on platinum. cuz everything moves faster and hits harder. with more runs through with the Shadow on Platinum ill get it down...just need to show alil more patience.
i like the build.....prefer it A BILLION times more than Electric Slash master!

if you go back to duration (which is what i run) a plat phantom has to have a 2 hit from SS... ran my build on platinum about a week ago just after these classes came out... but it still OHK on gold if you let DOT do its magic with enough amps and what not...
Yeah, that is what my other build was and what I'd be going back to. Duration is just so useful though that the added damage from the other evo, which really only helps slightly with Phantoms, Turrets, Pyros and Hunters, doesn't add up. So I enjoyed this phantom insta-killing build, but prefer and will spec back into my other build (see link in signature).

So, its 6/0/6/6/6 for me.
If the Shadow had a phaser, it would be more useful.

Could this be lag?? Also i believe you cannot hit phantoms when they have their biotic bubble up.

I have the same build as the OP except i put in duration instead of 40% dmg. Now with strength enhancer 3 , power amplifier 3 & hydraulic joints V i should still be able to kill a phantom on gold in one hit. But i am getting varied results. Sometimes i can see that they have 1 or 2 bars of health left.

More likely it's whether you killed with your sword in the preceding 20 seconds or not to activate Martial Artist bonus of Sword Mastery rank 5 evo. And yes, the Phantom bubble does block most of the SS damage and should be removed with weapon fire before moving in to SS.

2 Shadows, one specced for max damage and Armor on Sword Mastery rank 6, and the other one specced for Shields/Barriers rank 7, is a potent combination.

Does this guide change at all seeing how now the rank 6 of sword mastery works with SS?
I'm not sure yet. I player with her yesterday but since I can't SS an Atlas I couldn't tell if there was a difference. I have to play her some more against reapers or geth to decide if I'd recommend a different build. My prefered build is already 6/0/6/6/6 anyways, which is one of the builds in the OP (armor sword). I'm still no fan of ES.

Armour Damage in Rank 6 Sword Mastery is a must IMO. Makes the Shadow insanely good vs. Reapers.
I run 5/3/6/6/6 with a GPS, Claymore or Raider.

3 pts in ES gives you some nice anti-mob utility. Plus reloading the Claymore/Raider during ES, SS, or light melee combo is nice.

"- N7 Shadow Sword Mastery power evolution 5 and 6 now apply to Shadow Strike damage"
Is this not the case?

It is the case.
Pre-patch, I used this build and Shadow Strike's electric damage killed Pyros for me in Silver (left something like 4 bars or so of Armor left).
Now, post-patch, I use this build (slightly weaker Shadow Strike) and a Pyro is left with 1 bar of armor (still dies due to electrical damage).
