All good things come to an end, right? Let's just hope BW understands that ME3 MP has built a good core community, and if they want it thrive (i.e. $$$), they will find a way to migrate ME3 MP into something more lasting.

Here's hoping!

Yup. Hope is really all we have right now.

That's why it would be great if someone from Bioware could at least give us some hint as to them possibly considering this.

Hopefully they make another ME with proper multiplayer. With PVP and different game modes and without store abomination.

If you think about it.......what happens when the next gen consoles arrive???.........all present DLC will become redundant and unless you've stored the DLC game content you've bought over the years, there's a chance it's all going to be wiped.

That's the joy of "game of the year editions".........it's all on the disc.

Recently, some companies have started to only include download codes for the DLC on their game of the year editions...

This is becoming a common thing for companies to do. I'm sure it's all about saving money on disc production.

The last player enters a lobby, confused. Then a Bioware Representative joins and explains that multiplayer is dying. The game starts and the Representative tells the player that they have 3 choices, that are vague because I can't be bothered to come up with them.

The player, being a noob, thinks the Bioware Staffer is an enemy and shoots him.

They respond, "SO BE IT"

"The online life cycle continues..."

Simple answer: EA dont give a s***

To hell with all of us spending time and money getting the shiny stuff we all want, EA just wants our money.

Which is why I am hoping BioWare has a plan in place. They were able to get us free MP DLC, so I'm hoping they can find a way to get us offline MP when the servers do eventually go down.

Added a discussion to the group for what people would like to see in the offline mode.

Yes I would still like to enjoy the multiplayer mode offline but the question is will they even consider it?

I believe it's something BioWare will consider. They have a great track record for fan service. Just look at all the work they do for MP. Free DLC, constantly trying to balance it and staying active on the forums.

Even though they haven't replied yet, I think that an offline mode after MP is shut down has a good chance at becoming a reality.

They'll probably shut it down once the new ME game comes out. Since I assume that game will be a cover-based, RPG, third-person shooter using Unreal Engine 4. Though that's just an assumption on my part.

Either way, due to the unforeseen success of the multiplayer, it will remain online for the next year or two I'd imagine.

The will present us with 3 choices, none of which are want we want and make no sense... Oh wait, they did that bit already.

I wonder if they could import manifest data from this game to a future ME multiplayer game? It would be easy enough to hold on to the data, anyway. I think that would be really neat...but unlikely as hell.

Oh they could, but they will not. That would wreak the micro-transaction glut fest they'll be setting up for the next one.

Just a reminder to join the group in the first post if you would like to see MP get an offline mode when the servers are shut down.

Thanks!

Figured it would be more like...

A Bioware tech support agent sees the ME3 servers are completely dead and no one is playing ME3 anymore.

They mutter to themselves, "SO BE IT"

"Screw them all..." then deletes the whole online server.

Said companies only providing codes can burn.. in .. hell.
Seriously this is exactly what I HATE in the digital age.
When it gets taken offline we'll lose everything!
Doesn't ME3 servers check and authenticate your dlc and if it can't connnect = no DLC Bozo... So EA could pretty much just take servers offline and not give us the ''right'' to play the DLCs.
It's dangerously close to fraud and it's starting to rustle my jimmies that companies are starting to sell ''licenses'' to play their games.
I bought it I should be allowed to keep it and do what I want with it.
That's why I love discs.
Sorry I just wanted to get that off my chest.

My thoughts exactly.

That's why I wanted to get this out in the open early, so that BioWare can see the support for an offline mode when the servers are shut down.

I feel that the more public support we can get, the more consideration BioWare will put towards implementing this in the future.

All I can say is
"SO BE IT... The cycle will continue..."
Now, onto the actual subject, I imagine they might allow for non ea servers. I would hope so, if I actually play this game a few years from now, I don't want to go into the end with 50% ems. that's just suicide...

That's the whole point of this topic. I'm hoping that with enough support, BioWare will consider adding an offline MP mode after the servers are shut down.

Maybe they'll preserve our manifests and have them carry over (at least partially) to the next ME game's multiplayer?

The RNG will never die. It will merely move to another platform to troll us into perpetuity, and I will never, ever unlock the typhoon. :pinched:
