So I'm tired of all the threads going off in rants about how n7 is worthless and is no indicator of skill and how people that kick low n7 players are retarded.

So I've a better question; what is the point of playing with level 20 characters?

You waste exp, your overpowered character makes everything too easy and stale so it can't be for fun, the only logical answer would be to grind for credits, and if that is the sole reason you play, you may as well grind fbwgg all day... so the only reason you don't promote and watch how you get closer to 20k warassets  (and closer to your secret ending) is to grind for credits in a behavior that many games have used  to trap and sometimes kill people with questionable mental health...

Well good job in unlocking all the game has to offer (or breaking lots of crap in fits of rage because you are almost over 9000 level 4 consumables), how does it feel to know you are playing this game, for no reason other than a false sense of accomplishment? because you surely ain't doing it for fun.

--------------

To me nothing beats changing playstyles as you level up; is great to play the asari vanguard sniper at level 1 and then switch to asari cqc with a claymore at level 10.

Adjusting your playstyle as you level up, and trying new builds from scratch is as much fun or funner than playing on the casino roulette and somehow win 5 times in a row, because odds say you won't have any fun, when you get a level 4 cryo ammo instead of the demolisher you wanted.

My N7 is way over 2k, it's safe to say I know what powers I like on the classes so what's the point of promoting anymore? Lol.

N7 6000 here... I stopped promoting b/c.. well... I wanted to. I have enough war assests so that I have a maxed bar when I start the game... I've already played probably a few hundred matches without a level 20 character and thus have nothing to prove.

When I got to 6000... I wanted to have a nice round number next to my name... so I stopped. If I am forced to promote again for a weekend event... I'll promote till I'm 6660.

How can you know that people don't play for fun when using level 20 characters? What if some people don't have fun grinding the same 20 levels yet again and prefer to just hop in a game of a higher difficulty?

Play how you want and don't care what others say.

Anyway, this thread is dumb. Just thought you needed to know that.

There you go, I edited out the all of the parts where you forget that your version of fun is not the definition of fun.

I don't want to promote so many times that it's impossible for me to get the "bad" endings in the game (I'm shooting for an eventual N7 1000 I think, haven't sat down and done the math so I just never promote). And my level 20 characters are hardly overpowered the game is hardly easy just because I play with level 20 characters. For me silver and above is still fairly challenging with my level 20s. I'm not playing on bronze here; I don't suck that badly.

@TC:
I stopped reading at: "overpowered character makes everything too easy".

You clearly don't play on GOLD.

Answer is that most people would NOT know how to play properly anything BELOW level 20. But you'll find very few that would admit that, they would instead mention how they never promote, how lower N7 rating are so much better than high N7 rating and how that time they played with a high N7 he died many times while the low N7 lvl 20 was ruling the game. Actually they FORGET to mention that playing a low level character IS harder and it is LIKELY that you'll score less than others.

I'm at N7 900 and I get over 1900 war assets from the MP characters, I think even with a readiness of 50% I'll still get the best endings no matter what.

You can always drop your readiness by not playing and then play offline, which will prevent you from getting your MP war assets. Then you can get the bad endings regardless of your N7 level.

....I don't even know where to begin, but apart from pointing out "to each their own" and whatnot, those of us who don't promote started out with low level characters, leveled them up, and whether once or several times later, we stopped enjoying playing gimped characters and decided to leave them at 20. What is repetitive to me more than anything is the idea of constantly going back to level 1, over and over, playing as gimped characters for no reason but to make a meaningless number go up.

I played my way up to the highest level where I have the best selection of abilities and performance from my characters, and having any member of my team fully specced and ready to go on a moment's notice (the whole lot of them to switch between and respec at my leisure) is far more valuable (and enjoyable) than the meaningless grind of leveling up over and over.

Now that I think about it, is OP talking about bronze, cuz yeah, L20 is a bit much for bronze, lol.

I promoted the new Earth characters a few times, just to reset their powers and did a bronze each time just so I didn't feel like a scrub in silver/gold and was amazed at how many L20's I saw in bronze. But you know what? Oh well, it's their game, if they wanna play bronze at L20, they can damn well play bronze.

I've done level 20 in bronze to test things (new unlocked characters with powers I'm unfamiliar with, new guns, etc.). That way I can go suck somewhere without impacting the team too much while I try things out.

That is the problem right there... making the same builds over and over again.

And this threat has a point, is easy to grasp it and know why I worded it in that way.

Anyways saying people that promote are retarded because promoting is pointless sure makes more sense.

Asari sniper at level 1

Asari cqc with a Claymore

You REALLY don't play gold or platinum, do you?
