Of corse you have the right to say its bad. No one ever said you didn't.

You don't have the right to demand changes from it.  Thats the key difference that many seem to not understand. That is the point that Gaiman is trying to make, because most fan-edits he refers to do just that; they change what fans percieve as the bad stuff in what they consider their version of the movie. And it's allowed, which is something BioWare has allowed too.

I don't think many people are "demanding" that Bioware change the ending. We can't force them to do anything.

However we can and should give them honest feedback. We can also make suggestions as to what we would like to see in the future regarding DLC.

Bioware aren't fools, they want to hear what the fans want and don't want so they can tailor DLC that sells well. For many that would be DLC that improves the ending.

I'm sorry dude, but that made me laugh. Almost everywhere I go I see a large contingent of people on these forums demanding the ending be changed. AGAIN.

I can't help but call the kettle black here.

You want to see where we get honest feedback, go to the Dragon Age II forums. I see dumb comments there a lot, but most of the time its intelligent people posting their ideas, while others try to force ides down their throats on what they think the perfect RPG should be.

Its inevidable that people will demand changes. But when it was made clear nothing else is coming after an attempt to change it, and people still demand changes, that is just entitlement.

The funny thing about this whole situation is that Bioware can diffuse it with a simple, honest admittance of fault; a recognition that ME3 let many fans down and failed to live up to expectations. Being honest isn't a sign of weakness or ineptitude - it is a sign of maturity and respect, an indication that you care and value the people who have been negatively affected by your actions, even if you disagree with them.

Why Bioware has yet to do so is beyond me.

That is the fault of people who built their expectations too high or expected something BW did not provide. I knew there would be problems when 95+% of the people wanted happy endings in a Admiral Cheeze thread on the old ME2 forums that reached hundreds of pages in days and constantly hounded those that said there should be some form of loss. Expecting total victory was flawed from the beginning. Any and all characters are the province of BW to do with as they wish to craft the story they want to.

The game is excellent in a purely objective observation compared to its contemporaries and all games made. It is obviously a AAA top-notch title. People just wanted things to end on their own terms not the actual writers of thre game and owners of the IP.

Bioware isn't some group of malicious developers and moderators.

Oh how cute, are you that starved for my attention that you mention me even though I have little to do with your discussion?

I think BioWare is making a lot of mistakes.

Make me leave.

I like how your point is applicable to your own post in this thread.

Bioware is a big boy and can defend itself, feedback enables improvement and progression.

(there as always exceptions with unappropriate feedback of course)

Uhhh, why would they admit something they don't think is true?

You're asking them to say something that the FANS believe is true.  What if the staff doesn't?  What if the writers honestly believe what they presented us was an amazing story?  What if the programmers feel the mechanics they constructed were what they wanted to give us?

This is exactly the sort of attitude that bugs me.  You act like it's a proven fact ME3 was "bad", and that BW should admit to your subjective opinion as fact.

I wish everyone could take a deep breath and let this very insightful truth sink into their noggins a little.

Maybe I felt like giving him what he obviously wanted..

That's enough of this "conversation," thank you. People who believe that they hold the only/best/most correct opinion about any game are a bit misguided, and going further to believe that their money, and their money alone, will "make or break" a company developing mass-market media products is, frankly, a little arrogant.

Offering feedback and constructive criticism, providing suggestions on what kind of games you like and what you'd like to see in BioWare games is great! It's what the BioWare online community was built for. Discussing and debating the good and bad parts of BioWare games is also fine, so long as the Site Rules are observed. What isn't okay is inappropriate language and thinly veiled insults against developers.

End of line.

It seems BioWare would rather have 10 people praise everything they do, than 100 people telling it like it is.
