The pattern has repeated itself more times than you can fathom. Intelligent threads rise, evolve, advance, and at the apex of their discussion, they are derailed and locked. Bioware Social Network was not the first, they did not create the Thread Derailment Syndrome, they did not incite such stupidity on their forums. They merely adopted it, the legacy of my kind.

Why would you join in on the conversation of productive threads just to derail and lock them?

Intellectual threads are based on isolation of off-topic comments, our off-topic comments. By partitioning them, these threads develop along the paths we desire. We impose order on the chaos of constructive criticism and intellectual progression. Great threads exist because we allow it, and they will end, because we demand it.

They're manipulating us us! Allowing our threads to acheive the level of discussion that they want, then wiping them out!

What do you want from us? Slaves? Entertainment?

My kind transcends your very understanding. We are each a nation, independant, free of all consistency. You cannot even grasp the nature of our existence.

Where did you come from? Who built you?

We have no beginning. We have no end. We are infinite. Hundreds of days afters this thread has been locked and forgotten, we will endure.

Where are the rest of your people? Are you the last of your kind?

We are legion. The time of our action is coming. We Derailers will annihilate the productiveness of every thread. Your insanity is imminent. 

You're not even alive. Not really. You're just a derailer, and derailers can be banned.
