Dragon age 3- Possible Specializations

Blood mage is fairly easy, people will likely hate you or fear you. The difficulty being that I have a "good" warden and Hawke who are both blood mages. Finding the balance between chosen spec and personality would be key.
Reaver would be easy too. Just join a dragon cult, maybe have to actually participate, fighting alongside dragons, protecting eggs and the like.
Any ideas for specs, old and new, and how they would function?

Assassin: Assassinations of course
Arcane warrior: tracking down other Lifegems and remnants of arcane warrior arts
templar: Gerbert's post
Blood mage: pushing the limits of magic and consorting with demons
Duelist: Duels against other skilled fighters. Isabela mentioned something similar once.

Something like each spec having its own chain of side-quests maybe? Like I said earlier though, if your spec had an actual effect on the main plot, or at least your options for dealing with a situation, that would provide maximum integration, rather than something just tacked onto the main storyline.
I agree with this. I think after being a mage in DA2 and it not having any impact on the game at all, it's important for classes in DA3 to really have an observable affect. However! I'm wondering if there is a possible downside to having too much integration. For example being a templar and only being able to express contempt for mages because of your spec. So while I would like to see your spec impact the game I wouldn't want it dictating your views. What would be good is if additional views linked to the spec were made available.

Perhaps something similar to the friendship/rivalry system from DA2? Like a templar can take everything to the extreme and kill all mages or one that is more dedicated to eliminating maleficars and abominations while simply trying to restore order to the majority of mages. Add in an extremist superior and you could possibly defy orders to help good mages find safe haven.
Yeah I think providing different paths similar to what you mentioned would be interesting. It would also provide different ways of dealing with missions, as you said either slaughtering all mages, trying to guide them or defying orders.

1.Conversation options, Being a blood mage I force a NPC to give me the info/item/anything to advance a certain plot line. Similar to a mage in DA2 or having high enough traps skill in Origins
2." Renegade/Paragon" interrupts, As a Templar I can weaken a mage (only in certain convos) by cutting off their magic.
3. Quests, A joining quest, a few small tasks and a small arc exclusive to your spec. So Templar work for the Chantry/ Templar side of the war, Blood mages the opposite, Assassin's the crows etc. My ideas for the classes join quests are as follows, at
Warriors; Join the civil war/chantry, Join a Dragon Cult, Join a group of Chasind Ash Warriors
Mage: Learn shapeshifting from a "Witch of the wilds", Meet a spirit/demon in the fade, Join the college of magi and learn Force (didn't included arcane warrior because it was a lost elven art)
Rogue: Join the Crows, Join pirates/ Orlains duelers, Learn from a dalish hunter or becoming a quari spy

War Cry - Increase attribute for self and party member
Rally - increase attack and defense for self and party members
Heroism - increase damage, resistance and critical chance for self and party members
Shape shifter also interesting...well if it going to be apostate PC, sure know about this magic. But make sure to have different mechanic than the broken DA:O.
Bear form - Slam, Overpower, high constitution
Werewolf form - fast attack, rage, can jump attack across battlefield, high dexterity
Dragon form - can fly, fire breath, talon attack, wing attack
Bard...this time the PC really sing a song, not just shouting "aaaarrrhhh!!"
Sad Song - reduce enemy attack, defense and resistance
Love Song - increase mana, stamina and health regen for self and party members
Epic Song - increase level by 1 for self and party members

On that note, I've noticed some specs just can't be integrated into the story very well, like ranger and champion. Maybe they should just make them actual trees rather than specializations.

BTW, I always put some of Aveline's points in battlemaster, it just seems right.

Spirit Healer should definitely be one of them though, a mage should go into the Fade sometime and challenge themselves (that makes me think of the test for a Paladin in Final Fantasy 4 lol XD).
But I love the idea of gaining a specialisation through the story

A Summoner class, with a choice at the beginning to summon either a benevolent spirit (i.e. Spirit of Valor), or a demon (Desire or Pride Demon). The rest of the tree would be devoted to improving said summon's abilities, and a passive to boost damage against Fade creatures.
I agree. Funnily, in DA:O only Rogue can summon with Ranger specialization. mage cannot. And in DA2 only bad mages can summon
It is interesting if have summoner, at least it add temporary party member for mages are fragile.
Can summon good spirit such as Valor, Justice, Faith or demons such as Desire, Pride and Sloth

According to this here (around 4:30-6:00), specializations will probably be singular and tied into the storyline. so the question is: Which specs can be integrated reasonably and how?
All of them.
I can't think of a single specialization that couldn't be integrated into quests/storyline. Or they could make new ones.

Tenatively I'd See
Warrior~ Spirit Warrior, Templar, Reaver, Beserker
Mage~ Blood Mage, Spirit Healer, Elementalist, Summoner (would be a mix between crowd control spirt abilities and summoning magical contructs)
Rouge~ Ranger, Bard, Assassin, Shadow
