I don't understand why people think that blowing through Bronze is fun. It's so incredibly easy once you have even a simple grasp of the game. You barely get anything for doing it, too.

OPs point is not that you should not be allowed to promote. It is that this is just as annoying to beginning players as beginners in Gold/Plat is to experienced players. Therefore, NEITHER group should be whining, cause everyone is d!cks.

I know this is telling people how to play their game... but I kinda agree with the OP.
Newbies shoudl be given their place to learn and if you decide to go bronze I think it'd be corteous to use something not specced to kill everything on sight.
For example I never use my GI outside Platinum and Gold.
If you see new people on bronze just switch to a GE spec it for shields no HM and a full heal turret and give them support. That's what I do.
When I want to go around cross eyed and half past stupid I go to silver nowadays.

I do agree with this post that high level people should steer clear of bronze and let the low players get experience. There are times where i play bronze an example would be if i promote my adept (i really don't like adept, its a great class just i find it boring for some reason). I usually only play one bronze match, get a decent level, and go straight to silver. People need to stop epeening and learn to play together (it would really reduce the headaches i get from pick up groups in gold and platinum xD)

A lot of players usually drop from gold/plat to bronze/silver to level up their freshly-promoted characters.

If you are a platinum hardened player you should be perfectly fine, leveling those characters on silver. And testing out new builds and guns? Silver. And if you just wanna shoot things for fun? Silver, you're a platinum player are you not? You really wanna sit at the kids table?

I think the important point here is though that the complaining should be toned down. Complaining about low level players in gold/platinum lobbies is nothing but a massage of one's own ego.

I also don't have any particular love for bronze... it's so easy/boring and the payoff is so low that it feels like a complete waste of time to me. Silver at least requires you to pay attention to the screen.

Actually, i'm a silver-level player myself, though I have friends who mainly only play gold and platinum. They usually drop down and play with me on bronze or silver to level up, and they stick with silver and gold to test weapons on enemies.

And i'm not complaining about low-level players on higher difficulties, i'm just trying to justify high-leveled players playing on low difficulties. Just because one has their N7 or character level too high does not mean that they should be barred from playing on the lower difficulties, they did pay for their games did they not?

Just to add, as long as a player who mainly plays bronze has a good weapon loadout, or communicates, I honestly couldn't care if they played with me on gold. It's a lot more fun with the added challenge and camaraderie.

so you're perfectly fine with thrusting upon people expecing some sort of competance, a low level player without experience or knowing what to expect.

But you are against high level people joining in on a low level game to help bring those low level players up to a higher level?  *scratches head*

It's a pity the kick system is vote based and not just leader based. It would solve a lot of these problems with group synergy, at least for those who host.

I like to go into one or two bronze games during weekend events. If I see it's relatively new players, I take a backseat and let them kill stuff. If they get into trouble, I'll help them finish the wave.

Most testing is done in silver these days because bronze doesn't give me any idea whether a particular strategy would work on gold/platinum.

Nope, I'd be fine with both or I'd be fine with neither. But having one without the other is a double standard that goes back to said ego stroking.

I played a few matches in Bronze to level up my Infiltrator class, I have barely any really good weapons and all my teammates were equipped better than most armies.
Guess who dominated....

Regardless of difficulty... I always loved a player who made the game easier for me.
By playing bronze, I thought I was being helpful.. but I guess it wasn`t always the case.

Once in a while, I play bronze to enjoy sniping with various sniper rifles, so I don`t move that much and don`t even kill that many. I can still roleplay a guy who ensures that the game is finished in case things go bad for new players in bronze. So.. I will still play bronze a game or two each week, but be more subtle.

Okay just so I understand you... I solo if I want an ego boost.. but when I play w/ teams I want teamwork. Well... I would solo, if my 360 weren't a paperweight :D

No. There's some people who play ME3's multiplayer for leisure and enjoy Bronze.

I play Bronze & Silver with Level 20 characters.Other Forum users don't want to carry me on Gold & Platinum.

I do understand OP's frustration, as my very first game in ME3 multiplayer ages ago was with two level 20 novaguards, and that match sticks out in my mind to this day.

Although perhaps not a true solution, a possible workaround is to play silver instead of bronze. Bronze is pretty much a cakewalk no matter what unless you're playing with the worst of the worst (yourself included).

I never kick unless a player doesn't ready up. I'm on PC though, sorry. I'd have been happy to help if you were interested ;-)

Very generous of them. How come though that they don't seem to be so generous when a player with little experience enters a gold lobby? I think OP has a valid point.

Probably because all sorts of shanannigans can happen on gold, and class compositions may not be ideal enough to carry 1 or more incompetents(worst case). Like say you got one joker running all over the map causing irregular spawns at inopportune times during an inconvenient objective. Recovering from this on Bronze is easy with just one person with a decent weapon. However, on Gold, it may not be possible without having that 1 person letting the rest die and having to solo the entire wave.(I didnt say it was utterly impossible).

I am not saying there is something wrong with this. However, I do think there is something wrong if you are getting angry about not making the wave 10 objective as a new player without having first put in a little effort on your part also? I'm sure you've all seen the complaints about new people on gold. Most don't medigel, most dont use missiles and Im pretty sure a good percentage of ME3s multiplayer totally forget about survival packs and thermal clip packs. (Im no exception to the latter, 255 thermal clip packs, 230something op survivals).
Noone is expecting new people to never go down, I mean, the way it is now, you may go down again with a few seconds of being revived due to stagger, reviving with no shields, or being 'boxed' in by enemies. However, if a prime, or a banshee or an atlas is about to smack you in the face and its not going to die anytime soon, and you know for sure that if you leave cover you will get shot down in .5 seconds....don't be a scrooge and use a missile to at least save yourself if not to save your entire team?

I don't think anyone will have any problem with your level 20 in silver. In many ways, silver is the best place for people who are not newbies but don't want the stress of gold

This literally can mean anything. I have all the N7 characters, and pretty sure all the N7 weapons excluding promotionals at II or better I think. The very first time I took a Typhoon III into bronze was a few hours after Earth DLC was released on a level 1 destroyer. (Had promoted all my classes during that Operation where we had to promote 2 classes.) I played it like I used to play Gold and shot anything and everything that moved. Needless to say, I am fairly certain NOW, that my team then was not really having much fun back then because of posts like these.

End result, when leveling new toons, you kind of stop trying to overachieve, realizing that its bronze and the credit payout is crap and all you're really there for is quick xp. You no longer run around the map trying to control every spawn or go hunting for enemies when there arent any in your immediate vicinity. When a teammate goes down, you may or may not go to revive him, and usually when you do, its usually just to kill the last few enemies so the wave can end and he'll revive then anyway. Apathy is death?

What about people who are somewhat competent on Gold but only beat Platinum by camping like a noob? I don't like bringing level 1s to Silver. I tend to be a bit of a drag on the team. Being the last man standing on Silver as a level 1 is scary. Too much for me. Don't mind it AT ALL once I'm level 6, so one successful U/U bronze run is all it takes.

As for testing new builds, I'll either do a private solo bronze or I'll take it to silver. Actually, when Earth dropped, I tested all the new **** for the first time on Platinum. Actually made it to wave 10 with the Destroyer (spec'd out of fitness) and a Claymore. Good fun.

To be honest, though, I think this thread is flawed. Play on bronze to get a start on the game, get your commons and uncommons to a respectable level, but don't stay there if you ever intend to play at higher difficulties. Bronze teaches you a lot of habits that are actively bad for your team on silver/gold.

The logic behind the main argument of this post is incredibly broken. Does it suck having a great player taking kills on bronze from an inexperienced one? Sort of. You still win and essentially get free
Credits. All the scrubs on gold and platinum on the other hand drag squads down, don't use equipment, and can make even great players fail. They've worked and earned their right to play any difficulty and thats why they do so well. If they carry you and get you free credits you should thank them not complain.
