I have to agree. While I'm not a fan of experienced players flooding bronze (unless they just promoted a class), there's a huge difference between an experienced player making bronze too easy for others and a poor player expecting to be carried by others on Gold or Platinum. In the first case, less experienced players may be denied a chance to gain more indepth playing experience for maybe 15 mins (if that), but they receive easy credits and xp to make up for it. In the second, the poor player could undermine the team's efforts and cost the team credits, xp, and whatever consumables the team members equipped on their characters.

Pretty much. Thread seems like more of a complaint about high leveled players in bronze matches. Don't see why OP put that bit about judging them in gold/platinum.
Bronze is leisure, familiarization, and quick credits for basic weapon upgrades.
Silver is school.

Good people play Bronze. Good people kill everything in Bronze. Beginners in Bronze get tired of watching Good people kill everything. Beginners move to higher difficulties prematurely so they can actually try and kill things.BoomDynamite wrote...

Good people in Bronze are pushing beginners out of the easiest difficulty before they're ready.
There should be no double standard. If people hate seeing beginners in Silver/Gold/Plat lobbies, they must also hate the good players that play Bronze that herd the new players out of their comfort zone.

Beefing up a new player's manifest doesn't mean anything unless the player has the necessary experience they need to play the game effectively. e.g. Handing a beginner a Pirahna X isn't going to help him/her unless they understand the basics of short-range combat.
Learning the basics is key. Experience is key. Learning FIRST HAND is key. Beginners get none of these things if good players are doing all the work for them

Do you start out trying to learn how to ride a bike without training wheels? No. The good people are the training wheels for the beginners.Sgt SuperWae wrote...

2) I hate being instagibbed by cerberus turrets
3) I love to charge in the open and just melee everything in sight with my Vorcha, my Drell or my Krogan.
4) I like having grenade crates that replenish fast and give more than 1 grenade.
So, even if i am qualified to play Gold, even if i am N7 800 and even if i stopped promoting my chars and they are all 20...
I still most of the time play Bronze because this is where the fun is for me anyway.

You're analogy better proves my point than yours. Riding a bike with training wheels is someone attempting to learn something first hand. A beginner is on the seat, pushing the pedals and turning.BoomDynamite wrote...

Bronze is the training wheels because it makes the challenge of ME3 easier for those who are learning.
The good people on Bronze in this analogy are the big kids on two-wheel bikes who ride in circles around the beginners, making it impossible for them move forward on their own.

No. There's some people who play ME3's multiplayer for leisure and enjoy Bronze.
Damn right.

I'm a Gold/Plat tier player, and playing on Silver generally means I'm 40-80k above second place (minus my buddy who has definitely improved), and it's just sort of difficult to find a niche where I'm useful to the team, but not ruining it for people who are trying to learn.
Can't even imagine Bronze... I don't entirely grasp why some people would bother with it after having played long enough to get something like a Piranha X. Even if you're a dreadful player, with a weapon like that you'd be fine on Silver. Definitely agree that bronze should be left to those new to the game, but at the same time I feel Silver is a much better learning experience: hard enough to offer a bit of challenge, enough enemies to get kills even with 3 other people on the team, and it's a milder middle ground so people like me trying to show others the ropes doen't entirely(I say that with a grain of salt, I'm trying to hold back - I swear!) ruin the match for others like we would in Bronze.

Actually yes it does to an extent. We have multiple posts per day on here of gold and plat people lambasting people that do not belong in gold and drag down the team and fun factor. If in a bonze game you have 3 people of equal quality and one person who jsut owns everything it is similar. The team will succeed but the enjoyment may not be there. Not everyone is happy to be carried whether they like it or not and I've been gulity of playing bornze with a very powerful build and just destroying all things.

Few reasons for this, one being Bronze has to be the one rank that players work together more then any other I have seen. Silver I have to say I enjoy it a lot more then any other.
Gold and plat theses days are just not that fun it seems.

they stopped dying. They finally GET it - team work is awesome. after 1 week of playing 3 or 4 gold matches a night - I'd bet any of them could solo bronze, i have duo'ed silver w/ all of them at this point - and we enjoy lots of time in Gold - cept we have another 2 more n00bs to train up.
Pushing your friends from Bronze into the higher ranks faster DOES teach - and it's total foolishness to think that a n00b w/ a harrier is just as helpless as a n00b w/ an avenger. Same goes for any shotgun - especially a Pirahnah X w/ that spread - how does anyone think that won't increase their survivability?

So, N7 level and high level equipment is supposed to make you an instantly better player, ne?
There are plenty of us who don't have the skills no matter what our N7 level says about us, and no matter the strength of our gear, to play at higher difficulties. I am one of them. I will continue to play on Bronze even if I would get N7 999999 and have maxed out weapons.
There are also those who don't play to be overly challenged, and just want to enjoy themselves. I am also one of those. The only two achievements I'm missing in Mass Effect are the difficulty-based ones. That should tell you about that.
I'm sorry your brother can't get any kills to score with, but as long as both of what I mentioned exist. Maybe you should form a private match with your brother and a couple of friends you know can "lay off" or play classes they normally don't to teach him all these basics.

It's rather amusing readin this thread, its full of people telling everyone how they should play a game they paid for. Just a tip, you do not have the authority or right to tell me how to play the game I paid for with my money, this applies to every owner who owns a copy of the game.
This is short sighted nonsense. Everything you do in a multiplayer game, when you're playing with other people, affects them. You can play solo how ever you want, but if I rocked up in your platnum game with a lvl 1 drell vangaurd holding nothing but an Eagle and no equipment, I'm sure you'd have something to say. There's extreems. Theres doing platnum when you barely know how to play, and doing bronze with maxed out N7 weapons and lvl 5 grenade gear.
The easy solution is to leave the lobby or kick, yes, but I don't know where people get this self riteous attitiude that they can do anything they want and no one can say anything about it, "me me me me, a little bit of you as well to pretend it's not all about me, me, me me me..."
No, sorry, if you go into bronze games and don't give lower N7 players a chance to do anything, you're a jerk, and I have every right to call you out for being a jerk.
Oh noes i've been found out!

High N7 should stay out of Bronze/Silver? That's the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time.
Low N7 should stay out of Gold/Plat? Yes, they should stay out. Stick with Bronze/Silver until you're ready. Just because you get a few games where high N7 people kill everything, doesn't mean it happens all the time.
