So at the beginning of the game when Morrigan rejoins your party, what do you normally do/where do you normally go first and why?

This is only my second serious playthrough and I'm looking for different ideas.

First thing I do is change her tactics. Second thing I do is go to Lothering, and that's because I have no choice.

lol pretty much what goes down in Lothering haha.
After lothering I usually head over to get shale, I like him as my tank in the early stages of the game, later I switch over to Alistair.
From there I go to the mages tower, I gotta have Wynne for her healing abilities.
From mages tower, well it changes from each of my play throughs. I think this time after im done the mages tower im gonna head to redcliffe, and then work my through the ashes quest.
After this well i have no idea  we will see what im in the mood for when I get to that point :o
Thats the fun of this game, go where you want when you want, nothing is really need to be done in any order.

My first time, I went to Redcliffe. I was like, "Oh yeah, this will be short and then I will have a fellow noble to help" (I did human noble) and I had no idea it would take so long to do: save castle, save son, liberate mages to save son, get ashes, kill dragon, cure Arl. What are the other areas like? You stay where you are until the crisis is resolved.

The second time I went to the mages first, so I could do Redcliffe with the mages already rescued. This proved to be moot, since I got really annoyed at the Arl's wife and had her killed to save her son. I felt compassionate the first time, but the second...I don't know, maybe I was in a bad mood. I was like "You brought in an outlaw mage, allowed a demon to rule the castle, and kill many villagers with an undead army because you couldn't let the magetower do their job. Fine, you know what, you can die and make all this right." Yeah...don't know why she bugged me so much the second time, but it was also a time when I killed half my party to see other outcomes.

Agreed, the arlessa pisses me off enough to have her killed all three times I've played through the game. I also had a hard time accepting Logain as a character. I saved my game, accepted him, sacrifieced him, then reloaded and did it the way I wanted just so I could get the the trophies, but I cringed the whole time. I also hate that Inora lady, I know she's going to betray me every time and it ticks me off each time. Each time, I want to kill her before she can...alas. Also, can you not convince Alistair to let you rule beside him if your a female human noble with a high enough persuade? As for my favorite order...

Mages Tower (If you plan on beating the high dragon, you'd better have Wynne in your party)

Redcliffe first (you can get the medium dragonskin armor early for a kickass rogue armor set)

Brecelian Forest (Probably the easiest of the 4, if you have mana clash with one of your mages, the boss is easy)

Orzammar (My least favorite of the 4, I just barrel through this one)

Usually go strait to the mage tower for Wynne, use her to replace Morrigan as mage and be the group healer. I really don't particularly like Wynne, but she is easier to put up with then Morrigan for me, and doesn't complain everytime I decide to be a nice guy. Honestly I love listening to Morrigans banter with other companions, its just her disagreeing with all my decisions that drives me nuts.

Redcliffe next but I usually don't bother using the circle mages to save Lady Isolde, she let her entire town suffer to save her boy from being sent away, I'm happy to let Jowan kill her to enter the fade.

Mage tower has to be first for Wynne and the free stats in the fade. A good way to boost cunning for coercion early in game if you are not a rogue and don't plan on puttin any in it.

Mage Tower...then I bed Morrigan and proceed to hand her over to the Templars.

Let her see how it is being used and abandoned.

..first playthrough I completed Brecillian Forest, then Redcliffe, Orzamarr, Mage's Tower then ended in Denerim, finishing up all the sidequest at the end....

...second playthrough I vagued around everywhere completing as many sidequests as possible before heading to the mages tower, redcliffe (with first enchanter for connor), then orzamarr then forest...

...just started my 3rd playthrough, think I'm going to head straight to get the urn of sacred ashes...gonna head to mage tower early aswell to get the stat bonusses. This time around I'm gonna be taking Morrigan with me the whole way, though I'll be buying her some tomes to boost her up as a healer!

I'd say Shale, if you have the DLC. Pretty fun and easy quest. Just don't have to rush it. Then it's Denerim time with the side quests, then I prefer the circle tower myself.

Has anyone tried getting the sacred ashes before even getting to Redcliff? Just asking :P

Mage's Tower for the stats, the sacred ashes to get drake scales, kill the high dragon and get a dragon scale, and if I'm bringing a rogue along hopefully at the end of those two quests I should have enough money to buy felon's coat, and get wade's superior armor's made. If not I do redclie which always puts me over the top money wise.

p.s. I keep hearing about people getting drake scales in the mage's tower, I have NEVER, I repeat, NEVER even seen a single drake in the mages tower in the 6 or 7 times I've cleared it. Where the heck are you guys getting drake scales in the mage's tower?

Ooooooh, she's got the Swedish grip. It's like you playin' that guitar, Skwisgar! A-fiddley-waddley-waddley-ho!!

I mix it up depending on the character Origin. Xanny's a good guy so I did the Redcliffe episode first to save a life. Deragoth's a power-hungry mage, not necessarily evil, so I did the Cirle Tower early on. Andara is selfish and greedy, so she headed back to Denerim to make some quick coin, then to the Forest to find the elves.

I take it you are aware there is a way to ensure she doesn't betray you right?

On-Topic: After Lothering it kind of depends on my character, I tend not to do the quests in specific order each time, variety is the spice of life (even if it is pretty much doing the same quests over again with a few slight alterations)
