I wish to get into this, however, i see no "novel-style" rp sessions (of which i am accustomed to) on the rp threads, only letter- style and fanfics.

If my terminology isnt correct, im talking about a person typing a situation in their players perspective, sort of like Song of Ice and Fire, and another player consequentially responds and adds his own input or event.

If you have those, please point the way, i would gladly join then :P

The medium for RP sessions is IRC. The Forum RP is mostly for background stuff and player entertainment.

Click the Mibbit link in the OP to get right into the IRC channel without having to install a client.

The forum RP topic was originally meant for forum-based roleplay sessions like you describe, it's just that nobody really wants to do forum-based RP because IRC is just much faster and easier, so we've been using the thread for character background stuff instead.

It certainly is fun over there :D. Though the problem is you have to keep waiting for people if you're doing something with someone.

Yeah, that can be a pain. Do you guys ever have post where your characters meet up and stuff like that or are they all isolated from eachother?

If you're talking about the link I posted, then yes. We're all on the same ship and when we do a mission almost everyone comes. If you're talking about this RP... Well you've been there, I saw there so I'm assuming you aren't asking that.

Please stop discussing the MacNasty's link. That is not the purpose of this thread. We do IRC RP that uses the forum for bios and journals etc. If you are used to forum RP, then don't worry, just join the IRC channel and we will help you learn!

There's a netsplit going on. Mibbit can't connect when those happens; however, IRC clients like mIRC can still. See the thread about it under announcement on the EezoRP forums.

I will edit this post once the netsplit is over.

EDIT: Netsplit is over.

I was interested until I realized this was an IRC "roleplay" group.

Tried that a while back. It was not up to my standards, when I play it must have paragraphs, good grammar, good spelling. The "roleplayers" I saw on IRC couldn't do anything remotely resembling good anything and could barely string a sentence together because they were trying to get their entry in before someone else did.

We offered forum-based roleplay originally, but nobody was using it because IRC is just much more convenient. With the ability to make much shorter posts, there is a far better setting for characters to interact and talk to each other, which you can't really do when everyone posts multiple-paragraph actions.
That said, to each their own, and if you like forum-based, less interactive RP better, there are quite a few other groups that do that, I believe.
But I I can assure you we all know how to use grammar and punctuation while in character, why don't you just come in and check it out? You wouldn't be the first forum-based RPer to switch to IRC, quite a few of us come from communities with different RP styles. The focus lies on different aspects, but it is still just as much, if not more fun.

I don't take people's assurances, last time I did it bit me on the rear, not happening again. Now if you can prove it then that is another story. As for checking it out, hell will have to freeze, thaw out, and freeze again before I even consider messing with IRC again and then it would have to be massively updated to eliminate all the stupid **** I had to put up with the last time.
