Logs are a good idea, just saying that potentially interested people are unlikely to keep reading through our pages of random bumps long enough to find them.

Actually yes, i have some. Instead of writing about rockets, which is a rather bad publicity to anyone who would try to look and judge us by this topic i propose to talk here what RP-ing means for us.
Let's talk here about what we have been expecting, and what we have found. How we thinks RP should look, what it really is. How it looks at IRC, and maybe even some information about it.
To start.
My reason to join here?
I had two reasons. First reason is my constant lack of time and energy. I like using my imagination while having fun. Creating stories and things like that. I was playing on many diffrent forums, but the problem was, sometimes i had time and motivation. I could play some RPG, think about plots, gather my players and create an adventure. But playing on forum means you can't do it casually. So i tried RP here, and yes, here you can do it casually. Come in, play for some time in one of the hub and go out. Sometimes problem is people play on private hubs, and sometimes there is no one there. But i am still new, and need to see more, how it works, although for now i find it possible to play here casually. I need more time to evaluate this opinion.
Second was to work on my english. And to my big surprise, after a week of playing, i really improved. Mostly because players i that were playing with me, and he is really good at this, and because firefox checks my grammar, and i was forced to use online dictionary a lot.
So as for my expoctations, i would say, it was a big 4/5.
What i like in doing this RP the most?
One of the players, i played. As a new player, i am really under good impression of this player. For few different reasons. I think the most important is that this player is always calm and helpful. And can be often found on the EezoRP channel. Also, this player plays it's character in a way that makes new players adapt to the game very easily. Making mistakes with this player is never a problem. When i was asking about some things, or had some problems, that player was always to listen to me and suggest a solution. Also this player never "vanishes" and always says to poeple in conversation that this player will be gone for a while, so they know if they should wait for answer or can start looking for another to play. Because i was mostly playing with this player i didn't play much with other people, but this player is the reason i really enjoyed it so far.
So for the thing i enjoyed the most, i think full points on whatever scale.
What i disliked the most?
My character almost died on my first session. I also know about some other things that happened like cutting feet of one of the new players on his first session. That player never came back.
So there is no "buffer" for new players, so they can make mistakes, and learn how to do it.
Also, players makes different opinions about what is possible and what is not, and there is no actual information on forum, that would make it clear. Asking all the time is not an answer to this problem, especially that mods sometimes have different opinions, so you should ask only the main mod, who is not there all the time.
So that's for me, about it. Maybe i will add some with time, but if anyone is interested in this kind of thing, please, go and try it. It can be a fun experience.

Join the IRC lobby and say hello. It's easier to give help for character creation there.
There aren't rules for character creation, really, beyond following lore and being reasonable. As for your character idea, it is preferable that you explain why in the bio, that she lacks biotic abilities if she is a combatant. So you're ready to explain in-character for when other characters ask about it. I recommend you browse the forums and look at how others do their characters, and how they expalin character traits and quirks.
Edit: rephrased to sound less intimidating.
