In the scripting forum a question was raised regarding NWNCX. As you are loading haks and tlk before character creation could it be possible at that time to provide a way for players to choose from custom races, classes, skills, feats, etc?

In the past I heard the only way t do this was with Leto. It would be huge if you could offer all of this custom content through NWNCX.

Custom skills and feats are already available.
Custom base classes should be easy to do, but may be trickier to configure (e.g. default packages).
Races are hardcoded with buttons; changing this would require a GUI rework, which is not something I'm willing to do yet.

@ nwnsmith. NWNCQ is client based. In single player games Haks are already preloaded before character creation. therefore there is no reason to need nwncq for this.

If the problem you are having is with a server, the problem there is harder to overcome, because it is the client that creates original character before the haks are loaded in a multiplayer game.

Lightfoot8, the preloading problem is already solved with NWNX Connect.

Ok, Glad to be corrected.
The only draw back that I see is the it does require the players to run third party software. Even with that draw back, I am glad to see a solution t this problem.

On a half OFF topic note. How do the premium modules work in multi-player? Since the Client have to purchase the modules in order to play, Do they by chance Preload everything before creation? It is something that I have been trying to find the time to look into, Just finding it hard to find the time.

There is just no way to fix bugs or change client behavior without third party software.

I didn't even know they work in multiplayer. :)
But I don't see why the client would need to preload the content.

Thank you both for the answers. Skills and feats are a huge benefit. I am definitely going NWNCX! classes would be an amazing addition. Races are not the most important to me given that we can utilize sub-races.

I am grateful to you all.

FYI nwnsmith, this is about NWNCX, the client extender, rather than NWNCQ, the tileset override by Chico. I figure you know you are talking about the former, but I wanted to clarify, just in case.
