Personally I find the biggest problem of Crusader to be very high recoil. It's just not fun to use when after every shot your aim goes up by a meter.

2. they want variety and dont wanna use the same weapons on every class/character
3. it's a good gun

those are the reasons i can think of real quick as to why people would use a crusader....but i get it, this is the bsn and since it's a shotgun and doesnt perform exactly like the claymore, graal, or gps, it means it's not a good gun

I don't get why people compare it to the Claymore. It's just retarded, imo... like comparing the Indra to the Widow, the Talon to the Phalanx, the Scorpion to the Predator, or the Saber to the Avenger.

The Crusader may be a shotgun, but functionally it's similar to the Saber and therefore should be compared to it much like the talon should be compared to shotguns, since it essentially functions as a shotgun.

I compared it to the Claymore because that seems the go-to gun everyone compares all shotguns. I do agree with you. It should IMO be compared to the Widow and Saber. As you said It's functionality is completely different to the Claymore. You raise a good point.

I haven't found any other weapon that fits my Krogan Sentinel as nice as the Crusader.

It's great against armored targets, it's accuracy is awesome and it doesn't have a scope.
I like it.

I can empty an entire clip from the Locust into an enemy's head from across the map, and not kill it.

The problem is definitely not my supposed lack of player skill. It's that the Locust sucks.

I used Crusader for a few Silver games with Turian Soldier.

I screamed "GET OFF MY LAWN" every headshot, and "ITS WABBIT SEASON" each wave.

So yeah, that was pretty much all the fun I could squeeze out of the Crusader.

 I have both weapon at same level and when compared to a Paladin, Crusader is outclassed. 



Paladin has almost half Cruysader's weight, almost half the recoil, better burst DPS, better fire rate and it still easier to upgrade.

Plus, pistols can be equiped with better mods. The only mod Shotgun have that Pistols don't is Spare ammo and Smart choke. And both are pointless for the crusader.

Crusader does more damage and have a nice penetration. I will give you that.

This gun is good with Stabilization gear and amps. There's no accuracy decrease after shooting it, it's always spot on.

Maybe the Turians can squeeze some good out of it.

Aw, and I think you're officially trolling now too. See, with the right character, yes... I can do pretty much any of those... and I can do it more effectively because I don't have to wait for the reload constantly... and I don't need to body shot a maurader when I can just pop it's head off from across the map and move on to the 2 phamtoms and 2 brutes coming in behind me on platinum while you die getting up close and waiting for your gun to finally reload... oh and by the way, the reload speed of the crusader is just another perk of the gun!

Also as another poster pointed out... claymore and the crusader are two completely different guns used in completely different ways... you trying to argue it is cute, but again... I'll happily play with my apple and you can happily play with your orange.

People. Were comparing a Shotgun and a sniper rifle here.
Can we please burn the strawmen and actually be on the same plane of excistence while we argue?

Crusader is on the shotgun tab but behaves like a sniper rifle.
Compare it to the same kind of odd duck I.E the Saber.
THEN you can wave your strawmans.

Also Air Quotes. Would you like the crusader to be another claymore? Seriously would you? We'd lose something unique in the process of change IMO.

I never use a smart choke on it and I find it vastly superior to any other shotgun in the game...

But you can't 1 shot them with a headshot on Gold.

I can if they don't have shields. Even if it takes two, at the ranges the Crusader is capable of firing from, you would completely miss with the majority of your pellets.

That's another advantage the Crusader has: Shredder mod, and smart choke are not mandatory. Armor DR has almost no effect on it, because it fires a single slug. Smart Choke has no effect because the gun already has pinpoint accuracy.

The Crusader in it's current state is absolute garbage, but ffs can we stop comparing it to the Claymore?

its like the Saber in that if you can score headshots easly its useful, it does have perfect accuracy at all times which is actually a step above the saber in that reguard + cover penetration...

however....

its damage is not enough for the weight and ammo capacity, so you must be extremely skilled with it or use something else.

To be fair, there's basically no damned reason to use the Crusader if you have other weapons. There are just better long-range weapons and better shotguns. The damage is too low and the recoil is too high. It may not be horrible, but it's definitely not an optimal choice.
