I've started reading the first few words then stopped. Please, no spoilers, even those with good intentions :-D This is my first playthrough, so I simply don't want to know things that are forward with the plot :-)

In your opinion, what is best? DA:O or ME?

it is like comparing Apples to Oranges. Both are good games. At this very moment, I am partial to Dragon Age Origin. Right now, my friend loves his Duel Wielding Dalish Elf Rogue/Ranger.
Side note: Finding Specializations within the Game will not effect the Main Storyline. But For Roleplaying purposes, some specialization makes more sense with certain characters.

Thanks for the side-note. I was a bit perplexed about that. It seems that I am able to unblock all the specializations... except for those that could be used by my PC

depends on the specialization, you have to work for them. Some would be easy to get. For example, there is a manuel early game Post Ostager that you can get from a vendor, or you can be on excellent terms with Alistar.
Yes there are some sidequests to get the specialization, some talking to your allies and being on good terms with them or buying manuels from Vendors.
Other than Sten, everyone has 1 specialization. In Awakening, if you unlock a specialization it will be active for all parts of the game. So If you buy the Reaver specialization within Awakening, you can use it on a warrior in Origins.

I have bought 2 tomes and unlocked 3 specializations from companions. Still not those I was looking for

I suppose it's good time to ask Alistair again for the templar thing, since now we are engaged, or how it is called :-P

If I remember correctly... assassin, templar, shapeshifter (free translations from the Italian version. However, this is the ability of Morrigan to become a spider or whatever), bard and I think ranger.
Being a mage, and not wanting to become a shapeshifter, you can see I am not at a good point
However, please, don't tell me where are the others. I am trying hard to finish the game on my own ^^

Well Mage is a good class. I was a Dedicated Primal Arcane Warrior Mage.

Warrior Mage. The same specialization I want too. I just have to find someone to teach me :-P I am going to play in few minutes. Maybe it's the time I'll be able to find that ^^

It was a frustration for me. I've never been any good at space shooters like this ...I lost count of the times the Ebon Hawk got blown up...

@ Get: there's a trick you can use. Just when you know you have to fight with those damn gunners, put the screen resolution at 800x600. The effect is dreadful, but the enemies are bigger :-D
You know, KotOR has been developed for older hardware, with lower resolution. Now we play at high resolution with the mouse-track for low resolution. That's the problem :-/

For me the problem is that I'm useless at that sort of game (in fact I struggle on first-person shooters and tend to avoid them...)

I suck too :-D But in the first seconds, all the enemies are entering the scene right in the center of the monitor, so if you just keep shooting in the first seconds, you'll end up killing almost everyone. Then, shooting to the last enemy is not so difficult :-)
