I'm planning on doing the ultimate Renegade for my new Mass Effect 2 playthrough.

My goal is to personally kill of characters by my own hand, or by my actions in Mass Effect 2-3: (ex: Shoot Kaiden/Ashley on the Citadel in ME3, cause Tali to commit suicide on Rannoch i ME3, not being able to save Mirranda on the Cerberus lab mission, etc.)

In order to do this, I have to keep certain characters alive, such as the one's mentioned above in ME2, so they continue on in the third game.

My question is are there any characters that I cannot personally kill off in either of these games by my hand or actions? One of these characters that comes to mind is Garrus.

For these characters, I plan on not doing their loyalty missions, so they will die in the final mission in ME2.

If you have any idea on how to help me, please let me know.

Its going to be difficult due to the nature of the suicide mission. You might have to kill other people that are capable of dying in more glorious/ renegade ways. For example, Mordin and Thane both are very fragile in the suicide mission, so they would probably die long before Garrus in the SM, yet killing them doesn't allow their deaths in ME3. The problem with doing this is that generally up until late in the series being a "renegade" doing mean you're evil or making bad choices, it pretty much means you do the same things as a paragon player but in a more badass manner.

Well to shoot Ashley/Kaidan at the Citadel I am pretty sure you need both Thane and Kirrahe dead by the end of Mass Effect 2. So let Kirrahe die in Mass Effect 1 (do not do any secondary objectives during the assault on Saren's base) and either have Thane die during the Suicide Mission or never recruit him.

Samara can kill herself in Mass Effect 3 so you may want her alive. She will commit suicide if you do not use the Paragon interrupt in Mass Effect 3 when she puts the gun to her head.
Alternatively, kill her for Morinth in Mass Effect 2, then you can kill Morinth late in Mass Effect 3 (she is a Banshee in London by the Hades Cannon).

Zaeed can die in Mass Effect 3 if he was unloyal in Mass Effect 2 but survived the suicide mission.

Mordin can die in Mass Effect 3 on his own accord if you let him cure the genophage, or you can shoot him using a Renegade interrupt to prevent him from curing the genophage (Wrex must be alive).

You can kill Wrex or have Ashley kill him in Mass Effect 1 on Virmire. Or keep him alive, then sabotage the genophage cure in Mass Effect 3, then kill him (or have Bailey kill him) when he comes after you for the deception.

Miranda can die in Mass Effect 3 provided you do not help her enough by witholding the Alliance intel in your second or third conversation.

If Jack survives the suicide mission in Mass Effect 2, but you do not go save Grissom Academy in Mass Effect 3, Cerberus will turn Jack into a Phantom that you can kill in Cerberus Headquarters.

If you give Legion to Cerberus in Mass Effect 2, you can kill it in Cerberus Headquarters in Mass Effect 3. Siding with the Geth in Mass Effect 3 will cause Tali to commit suicide if she is alive. Siding with the Quarians in Mass Effect 3 will cause a squadmate (or possibly Shala'Rann) to kill Legion/Legion substitute).

I believe Kasumi can die in Mass Effect 3 if she was unloyal in Mass Effect 2 but survived the suicide mission (you did not play her loyalty mission). Its the side mission with Jordam Bau and the Hanar diplomat.

I believe Grunt can die in Mass Effect 3 if you did not complete his loyalty mission in Mass Effect 2 but survived the suicide mission. He is on the Missing Krogan Scouts sidequest given to you by Wrex or Wreave. It's where you meet the Rachni Queen (or her substitute if you killed her in Mass Effect 1). If he's loyal, he kicks ass. If he is unloyal, he may die but I am not sure. You can always leave him in the tank and he is never spoken of again.

Not sure if Jacob can die in Mass Effect 3 if he is unloyal in Mass Effect 2 but survived the suicide mission. I am pretty sure he will survive either way, so best to just kill him in Mass Effect 2 for FemSheps everywhere.

No way to kill Garrus as far as I know except during the suicide mission.

@RedCaesar97 Thanks for the highly detailed description! I'm planning on doing a Renegade Femshep run of the trilogy, & one of my main goals was to personally shoot Kaiden in ME3. Thanks for letting me know that I had to let Kirrahe die in order to do that.
