Exactly.  If I was in Shepard's place, I would choose one of the options because I would know that it would be the only way to prevent the death of trillions.  It may involve some ruthless calculus and some risks, but there really is no alternative. Refusing wouldn't even enter my mind.

+1

+2 for the underlined part :)

Well I chose Refusal for one of my Shepards (which was a copy of another Shepard who chose destroy:bandit:) and for what it's worth, I found the ending beautiful. Shepard's speech, Liara's speech.. It was great. Then the thought hit me that everything, everyone I fought for is now dead, worse than dead. Shepard, Garrus, Liara, Joker all of them are now probably reaper goo. That was it. So yes while I found the ending beautiful, and I do understand why some people would like to pick it, its not something my Shepard can ever, in good consciousness, pick. It's just not for me.

Yes that'd work. I was thinking ore on the lines of Victory, the VI of the bunker Javik was in, in Eden Prime.

Maybe I should make a suggestion based on that fan-fiction? :)

I've written something on that, just making the final corrections, but I'd very much like to hear your suggestion. :bandit:

Well, the basics for that suggestion is already in this pro-ending fan-fic: http://social.biowar.../index/13610561

All I need is describe it in more details :)

I was trying to explain Synthesis and Destroy interms of believable science, and you know what, I'm finding Destroy harder to explain compared to Synthesis. Strange indeed. O.o

Bioware did bad job and all of the endings are horrible, even with EC.

Also you are making terrible waffels...and your cookies taste like garbage...

Seriously nobody asked your opinion. You know hat support means?

Noone asked you to reply to me as well.

All of the endings make no sense, are thematically broken and feel cheap and generic. The only "choice" which was more or less tolerable, "Refuse" was not done right.

I always thought of destroy like a huge memory wipe. Like a giant magantic field that erases all data.

All endings are way better since EC maby not what many were wanting i wish there was more closure but i can play through this entire series again and do it different, go for a different ending, kill of this character, make that choice, save them or whatever lol beauty of this series is choice pick an ending don't judge a guy or gal over what ending they chose its pointless to get angry and stress over, no need to flame rant or rave just play and enjoy :D

This thread was created to have a healthy discussion between various ending-supporters, and also with those who don't like them. Most of the flaming is done by the occasional troll who drops by and decides to unload their wisdom upon us.:bandit:

So, you imply that only praising the endings is allowed here? I don't think so.

What is the point of coming to ending support thread with a statement like "all endings are bad"?

If you got something interesting to say to the ending , say it. (like oberservations, conclussions, a different take in general, theories and headcannons) but nobody wants to read your judgement on the ending, you can do that in different threads.
In here it is considered trolling.

Well, I think that Control will be even more easy to explain than Synthesis and Destroy. And this is not strange at all.

Pro-enders come to your threads, because most vocal anti-enders are usually trying to "spam-close" each support thread they see. Even through they got banned for that eventually. No offence.

Yeah, it's really not quite the same thing.

And frankly, there are so few ending support threads on here as-is. If you're not going to say something remotely stimulating -- if you're just going to waltz in here with big, bold "the endings suck and you're all wrong" vernacular -- then please, just stick to the majority of the forum.

If you're taking up a vendetta against Brovvik Rasputin or something, know that he is not us.

Well I doubt you'll ever truely understand why some players truely do pick refuse while some will not understand why you pick any of the three choices

Yes, I can't understand why some people choose Refusal. And I never will understand that. This choice is too alien for me. My Shepard's goal was to stop the Reapers, not to allow them to continue the harvests.

I will not sacrifice my morals or the morals or choices of others to destroyr the reapers I will allow everyone to make their own choices if it fails it fails if it succedes then it succedes but I will not force a universal altering space magic choice upon them against their will

And I will always repeat what shepard says during

You're asking me to change everything and everyone and I wont

I'm gonna end this war on my terms

I fight for freedom mine and everyones

I fight for the right to choose our own fate if i die then I'll die knowing I did everything I could to stop you

And I'll die free!

You can always try to undermine why I chose

refuse but the ideals of freedom and allowing everyone to make their own choice and dieing knowing that I did everything humanly possiable to stop you besides the crucible or universal altering choices that you present to me

That me and my forces gave their best to stop you I'll die free

Sorry, but that statement right there is so hypocritical.  The crucible is a means to stop them, and by not using it, you did NOT do everything you could to stop the Reapers

I did everything humanly possiable using my forces to stop you and I did do just that minus the crucible that reaper controller offers its choices to do

Sorry, but that's just too prideful for my tastes. My Shepard wants to stop the Reapers, not stand on some moral high horse.

My shepard fights for the freedom of all and wouldn't alter the entire galaxy just to destroy the reapers ^_^

I'm sorry that you don't understand the true big reason for why some of us pick refuse but that is fine because the way I see it is clear just like the way some of you see control synthesis or destroy as a clear option

I'm just not sure why the fact that the Catalyst offers the choices bothers you so much.

Would it bother you any less if it was a neutral AI suggesting thing?

How about just three buttons and an instruction manual?

The question is how can it not bother you the catalyst has been controling the reapers to destroy the galaxy over and over again for aeons that and the very being who has used the reapers to destroy most of the galaxy offers you three choices to beat them? if you controll the reapers and have caused the destruction of my world and my people why would I be inclinded to listen to you?

And all its choices forces a unviersal altering choice on every single creature and being in the galaxy that is something I just won't do

Because I believe in the freedom of life and its choices for all beings

I honestly don't care how I win. If winning takes the form of impressing the Catalyst so much it offers me its job, I'll take that victory.

And for the record, I sort of agree about the universal altering choice thing (though I'd still do it way before refuse). I also don't feel like killing anyone. That's why I pick Control. Clean and harmless, with no side effects for anyone except Shepard and the Reapers.

There is no way to scientificaly justify the endinggs except destroy and control. Synthesys is just plain wrong since all the organic species strife to achieve the ultimate evolution and become pure energy life. And all the people that disagree have the right to post and should try to keep things civil not throw childish tantrums. EC improved on the endings and all thought i would not mind a totaly happy destroy ending with shepard reuniting with his her love intrest, they way they did the destroy ending leaves for possible reunification. And as rest of you ending supporters should try to provide support for your statements not rage troll against ending haters or vice versa. Bioware made the choice for the endinggs and EC made them more palatable, but they still lack potential for what this trilogy stands for. Endings did not totally fullfil my mass effect story since I was with the universe since ME came out.
