The ending is really not perfect. When I first played through, I didn't like it solely because there's no closure with Shepard. Then I came onto BSN and had it pointed out to me how thematically and fundamentally broken the ending is. I'm sure a lot of people can put it better than I can, and I'm hungry and want to get something to eat, so I'll leave it to them to explain everything. For now, I'll just bullet point my issues (post EC).
  • Refuse means loss: no matter what.
  • Synthesis is horrifying.
  • Control is pointless.
  • Destroy is the best option, but has the Geth+EDI casualty tacked on because the philosophical standpoint is so weak that everyone would choose Destroy before considering the other options without this negative.
  • Still no closure on Shepard.

Ah yes, The Angry One.... ;)

The Angry One is one of my favorite people on BSN... I'll let her do the talking for me.

Nothing to see here people. Just another one of Hudson's troll posts. Move on.

How is this thread any worse, than that absolutely retarded post where you compare the ending controversy to a real life war, where people died?

Once again, your stupidity hinders your already meager comprehension abilities.

Time to shut up, Brovikk.

Nah, that comparison was ****ed up and you know it. Nothing say will ever be taken serious after that.

Oh and sorry for off topic, OP. I'll shut up now.

When you take it out of context and fail to understand the aspect of the comparison, then yes, it would be pretty ****ed.

Uhm, you might want to avoid using the image Bioware shamelessly plagiarized for their stargazer scene.

They just used the same concept. It's impossible to create something completely unique nowadays.

Like Tali´s image ??? They also used same concept ? It´s how we call these days just plagiarism?

Or what about original endings ? CRTL + C / CTRL + V ...

Image IPB

It´s very poor plea to said that they used same concept of someone else, they did it even with own art that they recycle ending in three same explosion with different color shader...

YO ARE NO FONY -_-

I liked the choices and the fact that, each one had its own consequences (and the EC solved a big problem, we never had the opportunity to see the consequences of our choice).
That said, London is definitely a strange mission. Basically, the team worked really hard to improve the design of the missions in ME3, they mixed things up a bit more and made sure that both story and gameplay worked together. And right at the very end of it (in London), they came back to the design we had in ME2 : Big gameplay section//Cut//Big conversation section//Cut//Big gameplay section. ME2 was really well written, but the this routine made some of the missions really boring to play. And that's what hapened in London. Maybe if we have the opportunity to say goodbye to our team mates throughout the mission, could it be better ?
Also, we never had the chance to see our war assets in action (which is something that could be implemented throughout the mission) and, of course, we have a new character coming out of nowhere in the last 10 minutes.

So I don't know. I don't consider my self a pro-ender for the reasons mentionned above but I don't reject the concept either, simply because I like it and because I respect what they tried to do. It relies on the choices we made thoughout the series but the general feeling could have been something more satisfying. When I finish the game, I have the feeling that I changed the galaxy forever but still don't have the feeling that I took Earth back. :s

(My English is a bit rusty, so if you find any mistake...)

And the hammer begins to fall. Oh well 4 pages of polite conversation is a decent achievement. I will give it a go and ask people to remember that this is an ending support thread. Coming into this just to argue cos you hate the ending seems a tad tyrannical. Personally I didn't like the endings pre EC but the EC fixed all that for me. Still not the "best" ending I think they could have done but entirely satisfactory.

For me the most touching thing about the ending was EDI´s crying in Synthesis... Her first real emotion was the mourning of a friend who helped her evolve like no one else.

really beautiful

Yeah it was beautiful. Throughout ME3 EDI was like an inquisitive child, eager to learn about her surrounding world. At the end of the synthesis epilogue she finally comes of age. The whole epiloge was beautiful actually. Her VA deserves a prize for it.

Hold the line! No matter what the cost!
And I had similar views of the original endings and EC.. not perfect but does the job.

I really loved ME3 and I did not hate the original endings as most people did. I actually kind of dislike the EC to be honest. Although the additional monologues at the end are all pretty awesome (most especially the control one), the additional exposition wasn't needed for me and I felt that that ruined one of the best sequences in the game, the run to the beam, by breaking it up the way they did.

I've never been perceptive. I don't look attentively to heed plot-holes or discrepancies, I do not over-analyze and I always remember it's meant to be entertainment, thus I loved the endings, old and new, especially now with EC, I got awesome AI Shepard speech. Go Team Control! <3

It would be nice to see something like this in a DLC or some future ME-Universe game:

If you're looking for ending support from an overall community, you came to the wroooong place. In fact i don't think there's a right place anywhere on the internet. The ending is terrible. Period. The EC helped to a degree, but the fundamental problems of the ending are still there.

The best thing you can do is start a private group for those who support the ending.

This is a support thread for people who like the endings.  If you don't like them, please don't post in this thread.  There are thousands of other threads where you can vent your hate, why would you come in here to do it?

Why do you play the same boring note to people who dislike the ending? We bought the game. We played it. We registered it. It's our right to voice our opinions wherever we please. If you want a place that's for supporters only without the possibility of haters giving their opinions, then start a private group.

Yes. I think Liara can consider Catalyst-Shepard as Shepard's daughter. Or maybe it will become for Liara something like grey-box for Kasumi. Or both :)

You can voice your opinions in the appropriate threads and this is not one of them...otherwise why have threads at all?

thanks.:)

Don't kid yourselves, if there were any other ending EVERYONE would be clamouring for that ****. Nobody likes the RGB, they either don't mind (at best), gave up and tolerate it, or hate it. Endings support... LOL!

Gotta say though, Tommy Wiseau as catalyst would crack me up. If ME is to end like a joke may as well go all the way.

Shepard: "Who created you?"

Catalyst: "There's nawt enough time to explain. So how's your sex life Shepard? "

--> When you were told you can't beat the Reapers conventionally without the Crucible and have no (good) reason to think otherwise.
--> The "horror" of synthesis is vastly exaggerated and is predominantly mass-hysteria from its critics.
--> Control is absolutely not pointless. It has plenty of purpose.
--> Synthetic collateral-damage? Big whoop, they can be rebuilt to stock. They're synthetic. Cerberus put Shepard back together.
--> There's only no closure on Destroy Shepard if he survives, but that's because his story is technically not over.

The Butthurt One is the most worthless individual on this site. She insults and cries foul when she's insulted, her arguments are always "that's your headcanon" but she does it herself, and her knowledge of all things ME lore is absolutely ******-poor.

If she talks for you, thrn you're officially part of the lowest-common-denominator on the BSN.

Tali's image came from Getty which provides royalty free images and stills. Lazy? perhaps. Plagiarism? Definitely not.
