This thread is for moving lost no-reload challenges where you want to continue your run and keep posting about it. Make your own rules and use your own setup, just make sure to communicate them in your initial post. If you want to just start here in the first place, that's fine too. Anything goes.
Please end every post with a reload counter, and brief info about where it was and who or what did it, for example:

Entering Toddeia the Sorceress, senora:

You may have been following her in her recently failed no-reload. This girl has forged what amounts to an engagement to Anomen. She has a soft heart tempered by a selfish streak - she loves her gold and her creature comforts, but she can't stand cruelty and hates to see suffering. She is trying to keep Viconia and Edwin in her party, because she likes them and sees potential, although she worries about being abandoned by them at some critical moment because they don't like her kindness. Even Jaheira and Anomen chide her regularly for being too soft-hearted.
Here is where she left off before her disastrous death in the no-reload thread:

Umar Hills module is underway.

Two things, and I already kind of knew better, but it had been a while since I played scaled-up Umar Hills (I usually do it very early, before it scales).
1) Don't try to leave party members waiting in the main entrance chamber. It pulls undead out of thin air.
2) Watch out for shadow fiends and their hold. They're very tricky because they look identical to the regular kind.
When I had my melee characters in the sunstone room and they pulled it, one shadow blocked the door, holding them up. Since the other shadows couldn't get into the now dark room, they "sensed" other available targets back in the main chamber, and they went for it. I was focused on my fighters, and didn't realize what was happening until too late.
I learned how to create a total disaster at the beginning of the Temple of Amaunator. There are *no* safe places in there, so don't split the party.
EDIT: Actually, you can go into Mazzy's cells and shut the doors, but I wasn't thinking. I figured my fighters were going to handle everything and rejoin the casters in the main chamber. Stupid me. But the mistake is burned into my memory now.

UPDATE: Toddeia the Sorceress, 081312:
So, I finished up the Temple of Amaunator, no problem, now that I was being smart instead of stupid and not underestimating the module. I was keeping chaotic commands on the whole party the whole time, even though I'm not sure it actually protects against hold person.
I beat the Shade Lord, no problem, with haste and lots of MMM's. And then, of all times, it turned into a roleplaying moment instead of simply beating the final boss of the dungeon.
(in character) - Immediately upon getting rid of the so-called "Shade Lord" by causing him to burst into flames with a barrage of magical Melf's meteors from a witch and *two* warlocks, a messenger appeared out of nowhere from the woods and delivered a written message to Anomen. It turns out that Saerk *was* responsible for Ano's sister's murder! And I'm the one who told Ano to follow the law and hold true to his Order's ideals.
Damn the Order! Damn the law! My intuition *told* me that it must be Saerk! Ano's father told us that it was Saerk!
Ano almost blamed me, and then didn't. But he left. I wanted to tell him that we would go together and kill Saerk. But I was choked up, with so many conflicting feelings and fears. I thought we would be caught, accused of being vigilante murderers, so much could go wrong. So I just stood there stammering.... "I'm sorry..."
My heart is broken. And I'm worried to death as well, because he took some of our best items, including the Shield of Balduran that we saved and sacrificed for! Damn it, we were supposed to be forever...
Now I suppose we will return to the mayor of Umar Hills and report the Shade Lord's death, though my heart is no longer in it (and Ano will lose the xp). Then we will immediately head back to Athkatla to see if we can find him. I suppose the Saerk estate might be a good place to start...

EDIT: ROFLMAO! I had no sooner posted this and went back in, when, whilst leveling up Jaheira and thinking about spells and such, I got confronted by the Harpers, who were very upset that Jaheira had sided with me against their Athkatla chapter. I could not talk my way out of it. So, abandoned by Anomen, my strongest protector, and depleted in spells, and no buffs cast, I had to deal with this. I almost wanted to throw in the towel on this run. But I thought, well, I'll play it out.
It took everything I had as a BG player, and, only because the difficulty slider is set on normal, and by some miracle, we survived. At one point, we had to run downstairs, because I was about to die and had nowhere else to run. I'm sure Thaxl'syll'y'a was quite amused by the entertainment, while the wardstone prevented her from joining the party herself. I got some great photos while fighting for my life:

LOL - this game really loves to beat up on you, doesn't it? I'm reminded of the Indiana Jones movies, with their sense of "and then?...and *then*?... gasp ... and THEN?"

Belgarath: If you really want to keep your PC out of the action, then put invisibility on her! It lasts for 24 hours...I assume you wanted to keep her out, since your squishys were a long way from the melees.

That's a good idea, Corey, I could have done that. I wasn't expecting attacks - it was carelessness, really. I knew better.
Also, I've never tried casting invisibility *during* combat to get a melee attacker off of me. I definitely need to try that trick next time. When I'm under pressure, I keep forgetting.

UPDATE: Toddeia the Sorceress, 080912:
Got Ano back. Looked up the right answers online - tell him he's about to be like his father. This would have been my *last* choice, as the others were all about "love" and "good and evil" and such, which would be my natural choices. Now I remember why I got so frustrated with this romance on my first run all those years ago. The whole thing is very counterintuitive and seems written to fail. I fear things are going to get even worse once he goes vamp.
So, went into Jan's story, since I got the timer. Went and killed the gith'yanki. Nice connection to NWN2. On the way out to report to the Rakshaka (or whatever the sp) in the sewer, got hit with boohoodles of Jaheira story, ending in her leaving the Harpers. I think this material is part of the romance - which means, since I'm playing a woman, there is a good friendship track in this material. I think that all the BG2 romances need way more friendship like this, since it overlaps with romance pretty thoroughly, just minus the sex and love talk.

This game never ceases to amaze me in its roleplay potential. So *many* dialogue and event paths, it boggles the mind. This last one implies that I have another npc spawned battle with the Harpers in my future. Don't spoil that if you already know, please. I'm enjoying marveling that a 14 year old game is still surprising me.
