Never crashed for me, never bugged out for me (unlike Hydra's pizza, which Bioware of course STILL refuses to fix, and unlike Jade's extraction zone, which Bioware of course STILL refuses to fix, and unlike Condor's ammo boxes, which of course Bioware STILL refuses to fix), so not sure what your problem is there, OP.
Besides, I love Rio. Best of the three new maps by far.

If you're playing as one of those classes, nothing will happen to you- It will, however, if you use a teleport dodge/heavy melee/biotic charge on specific portions of the map, cause the other players (except for the host) to either blue screen or crash to desktop. This has been confirmed.
Next time you see someone ragequitting Rio, chances are they actually crashed.

I adore this map, but I have run into problems with it. I do not normally encounter issues with multiplayer in any capacity (just lucky I suppose?) but have had a problem here or there on Rio. The issues I have encountered on the Rio map include:
-Unable to revive squadmates. Sometimes it appears as though they have fallen through the catwalk, and become inaccessible.
-I have incap'd in the central room, and fell through the bottom of the map, reappearing back at the spawn point and alive, despite not having been revived.
-A friend and I had started a silver match with just the two of us. The lobby was kept public so others could join. Others did join, but would leave after a minute or so of playing. We ran through maybe 6 or so players this way, and chalked it up to there being some issue on their end.

The only map I've had problems with is Hydra when it was released. Cover not giving dmg reduction, powers not working, etc.

Happened to me some time ago on Giant. That crazy fast moving was a nice thing, until everything gone darkDream-Maker wrote...
I'm playing on PC and I got a glitch yesterday where at wave 11 my character (standard human engineer) suddenly started to move crazy fast and shortly after screen went all black except for the HUD (kill feed, lifebars and shortcuts) and the sound just stopped also. I could still take damage so I was still present on the battlefield.
The others made it to extraction, then the game ended and sound went back to normal. That was really weird but I don't know if it's due to the map or due to lag issues with the host, as I wasn't hosting this game.

So well, as I said no bugs for me so far on Rio map. The only thing that pisses me off, is the size of the map, so freaking big, probably from side to side you need 20sec running.

Playing with a friend across the Atlantic has made it unplayable for me - not a single Rio match could be completed when I played with him.
I learned the map while soloing the Shadow. No issues here. In PuGs I had some clipping issues with the Shadow but nothing match-breaking.
Overall, I like it very much and would miss it, though. The ambient light is one of my favourites.

A friend said that he often has issues: When he hosts he'd often see 2 people dropping out of the game at the same time, sometimes cycling through quite a number of people going in and out.
