Hate it as a map though. Encourages cover camping, and discourages aggressive gameplay (shot across map if you're out of cover, having to run to the other side every time the spawn changes).

Yeah, my friends and I never play Rio because of the bugs. I'm honestly shocked to see poeple not having issues; even when you're not getting crashed out by Vanguards, you'll be watching Atlas mechs clip through the ceiling and fall off the map. Regardless, I avoid it like the plague these days (only map I haven't done a Platinum match on) and don't even do random map because fo the chance of hitting Rio.

I guess it's all been said too many times. It depends on a few things if it will crash. I extracted a couple of times successfully on this map myself, lately I'm just quitting right away when this map comes up, because I've been burnt too many times. Several Gold matches crashed on me close to the end resulting in no credits and all consumables gone for nothing.
At least bugs like the packages that fall through the map on Firebase Hydra don't happen all that often. I wish BioWare would shell out fixes like they fast-produce DLCs.

I also saw something I hadn't seen on that map during that time. It was Cerberus, and every type of enemy that simply walk and never run were walking on top of the containers on the one side of the map. At one point an Atlas walked on top of one of the taller containers and it was instantly launched into the air.
Still the most annoying thing on this map is the collision volumes. Atlases frequently shoot missiles through what should be solid objects. I have been in games where we have wiped because of this.
This is a pretty fun map when it's working, and the art assets are beautiful, so I sincerely hope that these issues will be fixed in the forthcoming patch.

I hate it, that we can't play Random Maps any more, just because Rio nearly always freezes at least one of our 4 participatingXboxes.
Has Bioware at least acknowledged the problem somewhere or are they just sitting it out like the many other bugs and glitches?

Apart from that, this map requires getting used to it. It's a long, narrow map with open lines of fire, deceiving "false" cover in the railings, and a grid of narrow lanes favorable to CQC at one end, where the generator is.
