I did not even know those guys existed...he was swearing at me as well. I do only have an N7 120 but I politely asked him to give me a chance. How does one even achieve an N7 of 11,000+?

You know is pretty funny because some of those people reallly think that N7 rating means something lol, and even funnier, they think that they are the "elite" xD.

PS: the ID of they guy was SheffStar007?

Yes, come to think of it, I do believe that was his name. Do you know him?

I have him in my list, only played 2 games with him and did a gold duo with him. Most of the times don't see him online either.

He has 11K and is second in the world on laderboard on PC, and I was wondering the same, how the hell people reach that rank?

Well, in my case I never liked promoting, just did it for challenges or stupid things, I used to be the first one in my country, now I'm the #2, the #1 is ChaosWind.

Also I want to keep my actual N7 as I have it now "1337" :wizard:

By having an intense desire to prove how awesome you are and promoting constantly.

I'm sure all potential dating candidates are positively impressed, too.

Am i the only one seeing how funny this comment actually is?

I've been playing pretty casually scince release of ME3, and my impression is that with the same amount of dedication that it would take to get N7 in excess of 11.000 in that amount of time depending on personal interests, one could have taken a college degree, become a martial arts expert or infamous laides man, anyhting really.

To the OP, dont feel bad that this guy had to manifest his percieved power over you. You most likely outscore him in every other aspect of life.

I stopped promoting when the store changed but I believe an 11k N7 would not be all that hard to get. There are much higher N7s on the Xbox.

so people that love the game so much they come to the forums are on the forums talking crap about people that play the game alot?
makes sense.
Im only talking to the people who are being ridiculously negative about this person, not everyone.

You forgot to quote a quite crucial part of my post: the one where i argue that the amount of dedication it takes to get that high N7 rank could be put to infinitely better use in other areas than playing computer games. Without that part, i sound like a complete jerk, for thinking that high rated players fail at life.

Come to think of it... you didn't forget it. You deliberately cut that part out of the quoting of my post. Why?

I have no idea what compels people to need a N7 rating of anything over 2000.  To me it says they are trying to compensate for something.  I only have a N7 rating of 800 & am getting bored to death of MP.  No idea how they could play this game for so long.

I am over 2,000 (2504 i think) but its from character cards.
Ive only promoted my 6 characters 3 times since they got rd of CC...
people who started playing after they changed the rare system and added more dlc will never understand this.
i dont understand your usage of the word comepensate when paralelled with this situation.
what am i compensating for?

If you're an N7 120, you may as well in an N7 1,000,000+. That's my logic, anyways. Why would you ever want to promote your characters, unless you're re-speccing them?

Only reason i can think of is participation in weekend events. There have been a few that required the promotion of classes.
Promotion of classes that you dont play, so that character cards wansn't "wasted" - same as promoting everything before dumping 10mil credits in the store.

But thats just stroking the ePeen; there is no actual skill involved in those N7 points.

A couple days ago i swear i saw a 17k.

I mean.... WHOA. If you play only Gold (and now Platinum) and never lose, MAYBE you can have that rating after 4 months without abolishing sleep....

Personally i think i'll be stuck to 600 until a new operation comes by that requires promotion. I don't have the slightest desire to start anew with any class.

Playing 3 successfull gold games an hour, playing 10 hours a day it would take 102 days to get to N7: 11.000

I'm guessing that doing a 17K would take 17hours a day for just as many days...

Is this calculation with or without character cards?

That is without character cards, but it assumes that you can extract every 20 minuts for 10 hours a day, which leaves no lobby or break time.
As some people hoard credits and some doesn't, but every one has to take a dump once in a while, i thought i'd let them cancle eachother out in the equation.

Maybe it's just me but I never saw N7 ratings as anything but a "How many times I subjected my team to my under-levelled characters" tally. Once you get over 250-300, that's pretty much all they are.

That is also possible, but not really relevant, as i wanted to see how much play time it would take, not how much cash.
I dont know the drop rate of the character cards either, both before and after all are fully unlocked (though i could probably find out), so taking that factor into the equation would only make it much more complext and inaccurate while not really contributing with anything.
