Yeah it's possible that he ALSO spent a wagonload of cash on packs....

That is also possible, but not really relevant, as i wanted to see how much play time it would take, not how much cash.
I dont know the drop rate of the character cards either, both before and after all are fully unlocked (though i could probably find out), so taking that factor into the equation would only make it much more complext and inaccurate while not really contributing with anything.

so you wouldnt even factor in the  250,000 exp per rare character card that a guy had for every pack he bought after maxing out rares??? 500,000 for a psp???
that takes you from ONE TO TEN WITHOUT EVEN PLAYING THE CHARACTER.
thats a serious chunk of exp especially when you consider how many cards you actually get..
it wasnt surprising for people to go up 200,300 levels in just a few hours before they changed this system.
you obviously dont take that into consideration, so you stop speculating that you know.
cards are ABSOLUTELY relevant in this equation, and DO CONTRIBUTE to the result.

A couple days ago i swear i saw a 17k.

I mean.... WHOA. If you play only Gold (and now Platinum) and never lose, MAYBE you can have that rating after 4 months without abolishing sleep....

Playing 3 successfull gold games an hour, playing 10 hours a day it would take 102 days to get to N7: 11.000

I'm guessing that doing a 17K would take 17hours a day for just as many days...

Go outside, get some sun!

Is this calculation with or without character cards?

Thats 2300+ PSPs only in gained credits. Add XP from playing. Game is out for 5 months. Speedruns take far under 20 min. You still get CC. Many variables. The calculation is certainly wrong. N7 11K is only 60+ promotions. So its possible even with "having life". I think some (maybe a lot of them) low N7 ranks with maxed manifest played much more than a N7 10K+.

You know is pretty funny because some of those people reallly think that N7 rating means something lol, and even funnier, they think that they are the "elite" xD.

PS: the ID of they guy was SheffStar007?

Yes, come to think of it, I do believe that was his name. Do you know him?

I have him in my list, only played 2 games with him and did a gold duo with him. Most of the times don't see him online either.

He has 11K and is second in the world on laderboard on PC, and I was wondering the same, how the hell people reach that rank?

Well, in my case I never liked promoting, just did it for challenges or stupid things, I used to be the first one in my country, now I'm the #2, the #1 is ChaosWind.

Also I want to keep my actual N7 as I have it now "1337" :wizard:

Hey Red, whats so special on that number? Also did you stop buying packs (I think thats the only way to stay on that number without getting 1 character to lvl 20)?

Someone from my friends list invited me into a lobby with some dude that had an N7 rank above 12,000. He seemed like a pretty OK guy.

You might have forgotten a zero there. :P Or do you mean 60+ promotions of all classes?

Whatever, and more relevant to the topic: The sense of such an absurdly high N7 rank is completely beyond me. To kick somebody based on his N7 is not a wise thing to do, even more so if the loadout seems ok. (I'll just guess you didn't take the Javelin and the Crusader for a ride on your Drellguard... :P)

I said that the amount of cash spend didnt contribute. Read the premises please.
And i dont know about you, but i sertainly dont get a character card in every pack i buy, not to mention double cards in PSP. You may get that, but i dont - the result is still that the drop rate is still unknown, and the aquisition of them would still depend on how someone spends his credits.

The game has been out ~135 days, and i may be wrong, but i dont think that the first thing people did when starting MP was doing 12min speedruns on gold with low level characters (as the equation assumes that you always promote @ lvl20, and therefor never actually play on level 20). The 3 games/hour is an average of all games played.

You are however very much right that getting an N7 of 11.000 takes more than 60 promotions. In fact, it takes more than 360 promotions, as 1 promotions gives 30 N7.

11.000 / 30 = 366,66

Yeah, thats all classes, 360+ single promotions (my bad).

This is true, you cannot see skill behind anything before match.
But you can see that he probably played some hours in game and has good weapons and gear.

I am guilty of kicking low N7s from a gold lobby (for example yesterday N718 Shadow with Phaeston 1 and no gear/eq).
That was because he had instant 2 kicks as he joined so I confirmed. But many times I let play even "avengers" in gold.

This N711000 (regarding OP) was an idiot, as there was probably no reason for kick (maybe free slot needed?).

Eh, just got a lightning fast kick for a plat farm (lol, okay)- lvl 20 Krogan Soldier heavy weapons and grenades build w/ Dense Ammo V, full equips. I've often scored #1 w/ him in these matches (which I consider a bit odd, but w/e they're pugs), while doing the most revives and soaking the most fire behind the counter (hey someone's gotta do it, squishy classes up front die all the time to pyros and banshee health bleeds and geth turrets, and that can cause a rez circle that leads to a wipe, seen it enough times to be sick of it by now; I rarely ever die to that stuff on this guy). But none of that matters cause OMG GAIZ, Krogan in lobby!!11! kickkickkickkickkickkick

Sometimes kicks are for inane reasons. I usually don't try to apply logic to them unless its obvious, like a sub N7 20 w/ starter weapons in a Plat/Gold lobby, etc.

I got kicked by a 132 and 2 guys that hadnt even got 1 character to level 20 yet simply because I outscored them in the previous game.

Anyone with a N7 of 120 is random, you don't know if they are skilled players that choose not to promote, or just a guy who can't pay enough attention to notice "he can" promote. Another reason why promoting is worth doing. Btw, I have 2 friends that are over 10K, it has nothing to do with having no life, the guys plays a few hours a day. Just don't play with randoms and learned to use CCs the way they were soppose to be. Everyone saying they have no life needs to stop hattin and learn to play the game.

Nothing like finding negatives to claim someone else has to make your own inefficiencies seem better huh?

promoting every time your character hits 20 is common sense to some people who get annoyed at the fact that once they are lvl 20 any exp they gain is wasted.

personally i consider it equally wasteful to promoted but thats just me.

anyways its pretty easy to constantly relevel once you get used to it and if you are typically in a group of friends who know you can carry at lvl 1 you will find that you can easly get from 1-9/10 in one gold match.

also those that do random matches will also play as the highest they currently have, using character cards to raise the next highest.

there are many ways to VERY quickly level your N7 Rating.

this said i have been 720 since the last promotion op where i promoted al 6 to help the event, and i would only ever promote again in the same situation... because only then would i get something out of promoting as N7 or wasted XP has no meaning to me.

Speaking as a disabled adult with a N7 rank over 6000 on one account, about 1200 on another, it's true, I have very little of a life. Promoting and starting over gives me at least something to do and a sense, albeit slight, of accomplishment.

You kids are quick to ridicule but yet point out how great you are. Did you wake up with the ability to be super at video games? No. You spent countless hours playing them like the rest of us.

I'd also like to know, how you conceited bastages can look at a screen and determine who can play and who can't. I started yet a third account, N7 rank 67 and joined a Silver match. One douche wanted to kick me and my little Phalanx I Salarian Engy. Then complained how I'm going to get carried. Shut his arse up by coming in first.

As you can see, I take great offense to people saying I have no life. In reality, some of us don't. But half of you posting on this forum, I have no doubt could have one but yet spend your lives gaming, posting threads on forums, uploading videos or guides or weapon analyses. Man, at least I just play a lot and I have no life? Keeping spreadsheets and this and that? Worshipping people who can play a game??? Lolololololol

Man, talk about no life.

It's amazing how people with high N7 ranks have become targets of hatred and virulence by all the people with low N7 ranks. "lifeless loser, get some sun, you must fail at life, virgin, wasted $ on packs, etc." You guys sound like a click of f'n high schoolers trying to bully nerdy kids (when in fact, alot of you were/are the nerdy kid).

Who the F cares.

I always promoted b/c it was instinctual for me. It just seemed like the right thing to do... constantly progressing at LEAST something. I eventually stopped once I got a number next to my name that was rounded... some people also set goals and then stop. My friend said 'I'm getting to 3000 and stopping.' I don't know what his motivations are for aiming at 3000.... but who cares, it's his game... paid for with HIS 60$, he can do what he F'n wants.

High N7 number is no measure to take when playing MP. It is a mistake to kick someone from lobby only because he or she has low N7 number. To be clear about one thing about N7 number, its only value is for leaderboards and nothing else.

I play MP since beta and i am N7 120 and in 90% casses i have highest score on any level. I choose not to promote already leveled all characters because there is no point in it for me except as i mentioned if you want to have high leaderboards place which is pointless and do not affect MP at all. Now if i want to try a different skill build for some character i simply use skill reset card. So choosing this way does this mean that i am bad player because my N7 number is 120, think again.

My point is that it no matter how high or low N7 number someone has, that is no measure how good he or she is in game. Skill and gear is what is counting, not some stupid N7 number.

That's right.

Time after time in this thread and others like it, you hear "N7 rating means nothing, I'm a N7 120 and I am always at the top of the scoreboard."

All that means if you employ an aggressive playstyle... seriously... that's it. Congrats. You grenade rape spawns. Want a cookie?

Well, I'll admit to being surprised by seeing someone with N7 120:ish and carrying maxed out UR:s. But I guess some people just hate promoting with a passion. Which is fine.
