I can play this game on my desktop, but the video card on the laptop won't run it.
It's an acer aspire, and the specs are all ok, but the graphix card is:
Mobile Intel 945 Express Chipset family. I have the latest driver from intel for it with 224 MB video memory, so it does meet requirements.
1 Gig mem, 1.73GHz duel processor
Giving me the Failed to detect supported video card....
Any assistance?

Sorry. That's just WRONG. Nothing from Intel meets anyone's current 3D animated game requirements.sweetest1 wrote...

Only ATI and nVIDIA produce the 3D video chips for Game-capable video cards. Notice that word "CARD"; it means a separate circuit board from the mainboard that is added after the mainboard is completed. An IGP is a small IC that is deep inside of an ASIC (large IC), that is part of the mainboard's CHIPSET. The two are very different, no matter what Intel would like you to believe when you are about to purchase a new PC.1 Gig mem, 1.73GHz duel processor

Generally integrated gpu of the intel range of mobile gpus are not included on the list of supported video cards for the game.
The game may run in some point but if you go far enough into the game, it won't be able to support it and all you will see is a slide show.
If its a relatively new desktop, get a discrete video card like the cheap but powerful 9800 GT or 4850.

If the display is cheap enough, or can be set down coarsely enough, the latest i5 / i7 CPUs have the "IGP" integrated into the same package as the CPU (not integrated into the actual processor yet), and this improves the raw speed performance level to close to the same level as the AMD 790 Chipset's HD 4200, and equal to the nVIDIA 9200 IGP. None of them will run the game at the designed frame rate in a Medium Resolution, and the HD 4200 is the best of the lot.
